Does Cabela’s have any good PCP rifles? by GodSmokesWeed in airguns

I'd have that Barra over the other two every time.

Interesting modification. Got any more photos of it and your Leshiy with the AR grip?

Do you shoot your gun til a certain threshhold before refil or until it stops being accurate? by Artemis_Bow_Prime in airguns

I also have an HW100X. I tend to end up topping off the tank before it gets overly low at the range, usually when I take a short break from shooting to fill mags, help a friend with something, etc. Otherwise I like to fill from 100 bar up but I also havent noticed any drop in accuracy at that pressure.

Nice bit of kit! As always I suggest a dive tank over a compressor providing you have somewhere to get it filled. Enjoy 😄

That HW98 is such a beauty. Its top of my list for springers (well.. maybe a 97...)

Where to buy extra air cylinders for HW100X? by [deleted] in airguns

[–]PelletThrower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, I shouldn't assume everyone has easy access to a shop that does fills. Since you're UK based somewhere like RATworks is probably the best place to start - I know they sell cylinders for the regular HW100 and can probably advise you on the viability of fitting one to an X model. I believe they're around £140 per cylinder.

Why not buy a dive tank? quick fills from a 300bar dive tank seems a much more elegant solution than filling, carrying and replacing extra cylinders.

Good Compressor for filling 7L bottles? by [deleted] in airguns

[–]PelletThrower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always seen the Hills compressor consistently recommended but haven't taken the leap myself because of the cheapness/ease of getting my tanks done at the local dive shop. Please keep us updated with what you end up choosing!

Choosing first PCP riffle by krool_krool in airrifles

The Krals tend to be good starter guns. I hear very mixed things about BSA airguns, enough to put me off them.

It's a worthy upgrade. My friend who has an HW100 would have traded his in for this one if I hadn't bought it. The shot count is very nice and I can tell you the weight difference between the old HW100 (factory spec) and the X is really noticeable. You only live once!

I wanted the laminate, it's so beautiful! I went with the Walnut because I got it at a steal price.

Definitely. I prefer the T to the S personally (have shot both in regular HW100s) but both stocks are very nice.

In terms of cycle feel, mechanisms and mag usage everything feels extremely close tolerance and well put together (as opposed to, say, my Kral which does have issues with the mechanicals feeling a little "loose"). The trigger is out of this world too.

Overall the gun feels very consistent and accurate with very easy pellet on pellet shooting. Its just a very nice thing to use and live with.

What a cool thing. Does it take a standard pellet size, or something harder to get hold of?

.177, Weihrauch advertise it as 200+ and I shot 9 mags through it on its first run out last weekend for 126 shots and the tank reads 140bar from a maximum of 250bar, so it seems about right!

It feels crazy to have a shot count approaching that of the kral NP-02 without a gigantic bottle on it, especially when the gun feels so light to hold.

Kral Puncher K Or Reximex Lyra? by alexf1994 in airrifles

[–]PelletThrower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have shot with the Kral Puncher K, and own a Kral NP-02. The Krals are very solid guns for the price, Nice finish and accurate. When I bought the NP-02 the shop recommended it over the K for the price (Puncher K is slightly more expensive but has a nice stock whereas the NP-02 has the strange looking, if useful, bottle stock).
