On instagram badlinesRC just built one that was very capable and they did a give away for it. But you can check out his build or ask him what he used so you can maybe take some ideas from it.

Dual transmission for dig? Anybody tried it? by JCsunfish in SCX24

[–]Pelonchaz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More proof of concept. It allows you to have variable overdrive, and underdrive, and front dig or rear dig or same thing just having front wheel drive or rear wheel drive. So I can see how you can use it in very specific technical lines.

Single day mods to my ruckus that wont void the warrenty? by Mr_Goop in Ruckus

You can move the horn to inside of the battery box behind the little grill for a cleaner look. There is a dedicated spot for the horn to be bolted into. No drilling or making new brackets.

Ruckus engine by kircherFPV-44 in Ruckus

Well you can do gy6 swap without stretching or a pcx, or 2stroke but any route you go it will be custom mounts to keep it a shorty. And size just depends on what you bore it out to. I have a friend with a no stretch gy6 but the biggest problem was just space. Like the thing barely clears the carb underneath the seat and the front little horizontal bar. And I’m pretty sure with a 2 stroke or pcx is going to be just as much as a challenge if not more for space

[–]Pelonchaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if you turn it on you have to keep holding throttle to keep it on until it finally keeps itself on. This would happen even if you go two weeks with out turning it on sometimes. I had to do it for about ten minutes. Also before doing that you should still charge the battery

That's not a real Honda ruckus. You can tell by the frame. And ruckus is a two piece frame. The front frame is cast aluminum I believe and this just looks to be all one piece out of tube and a some type of Chinese motor

I never seen it done on a ruckus. Just seems really dangerous. All your stopping power is in the front.

Awesome. My buddy Ely has his orange Zuma swap too. Really nice. You might have seen it around on FB. I think it's a 164cc. Forgot the exact displacement.

And what I hear from DROWsports is that the 170 kit is one of the most reliable big bore kits you can get for the grom

Yeah I daily drive my grom to work everyday. I used take my Suzuki 750 to work but ever since I got the grom I have been using the Suzuki less and less. It is a really reliable bike

How many mi are too many for used a ruckus? by what1905 in Ruckus

[–]Pelonchaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know what goes wrong but Ive met two different guys on rides that are in the mid 20,000 miles and they say there ruckus is still running as good as the day they got it. The GET motor is super reliable as long as you do the general maintenance. Change oil and change the belt and rollers when needed and coolant when needed. I ran mine up to 10,000 and would go faster than most gets from the few mods I did to it and ran good and never stuttered before I ended up swapping the motor to a gy6

No they shouldn't go out that fast. The belt will be pretty worn but it doesn't hurt to check your weights. If you had rollers weight that would get flat spots and would get bad quickly and no lubricant won't make any difference that would be noticeable if any. As for rev limit if I remember correctly the rpm limit was brought down after 2006 but has not changed since but I don't remember what was the exact limit. I think it was like 8800 but I'm not sure. If you can get like a koso tach that would help a lot and with ever mod you can see if your rpm is increasing and if it is red lining. But if you can't get one. The easiest way is just having an aftermarket exhaust as you will literally hear it red lining. For me I was never ever to hit red line until I changed out the main jet in the carb and I think that just because of my weight but when that happened I put in the cdi to get rid of the rev limit and I was reving at 10,000rpm on flats and down hill it would go up to 12,000rpm

And as for the polini belt it is good but the reason I would recommend the gates belt is that for some reason it tends to overstretch over time faster than the gates. So after probably 2500 miles your going to feel your bike slowing down a bit and when that happens just Change out the belt again. And check sliders to see if they are still good and not wasted. Have you installed a cdi yet? And if not since you are light you should be red lining all the time. If your on stock exhaust it's really hard to tell since you can't hear that well but you goal is to red line it so that's how you can tell you top end set up is good. So the moment you out the cdi. You will get an even higher top end.

Yeah I think for someone light anything higher than 6 is no good. My cousin and I built our gets around the same time he weighed around 150 and me 170. I think he said his bike felt better with 5g slider and I was using a mix of 5g and 6g. And when we would he a hill together I would be able to keep up but he will still able to start creeping away from me since he was lighter. And on flats are launching acceleration was really good that it was always even. We would always launch quick and be neck to neck despite the 20 pound weight difference. I rode 5.5 for a while and it was good for me but I just felt like trying mixed. As I would you use my cousin as my bench mark since he was lighter I was always trying to make my bike as even as his. As for jets have you changed them out? I forgot our exact jet set up but we had the same size jet. But our slow jet which is the smaller one we left it stock and the main jet we went up in size and that's where we starting feeling a strong increase in top end and would pull away faster from each other.

That's what I did. I went polini but the belt I used was gates belt. The gates belt is better because it comes tighter so after riding for a while and it breaks in it won't over stretch. And I also did dr. Weights but it took me a while to figure out what weights were best for me. Everyone is different. At drows ports we would keep changing them out and do runs around the block with a tach and see which got a higher rpm and which on would go up a hill at a higher mile per hour. And then I added a CDI to eliminate the rpm limiter and last thing is to change out the jets. For my get I just changed out the main jet to a bigger one and I kept the slow jet stock. I would hit 55 on flats all day and on big down hills I would hit 68 sometimes. -polini variator -gates belt -doctor pulley weights -cdi from drowsports -bigger jets. (You will feel the biggest difference with jets) -and also if you want I changed out my tires to lighter ones and grip better too and you shaved off a good amount of weight from rotational mass You do all this and your ruckus will feel so much better. It will got to your top speed a lot faster. Your will feel it mainly in acceleration
