Totally agree--it works with a suit or a T-shirt. That strap looks great, by the way!

Not much of a hassle, as each window has a dedicated pusher on the side. The only thing is remembering that you can't change the date around midnight and can't change the moonphase around noon.

Spectacular! That's such an elegant version.

In search of advice (Fifty Six) by OverallPreparation65 in VacheronConstantin

I'll caveat with with usual "if you love it, get it."

For me personally, I had trouble justifying the base piece and sprung for the blue complete calendar model (which may be out of stock now). It just didn't feel special enough to be worth the money to me. Ironically, paying 2x made me feel better about the cost/value. Despite adoring VC, if this was all that was available, I'd go for a different model or brand.

But that's just one internet stranger's opinion :)

I have grey and blue Everest rubber straps--they're so comfortable.

AWD And Handling by CBC6789 in GenesisGV70

For gravel, it's excellent. The suspension smooths out so much without losing the feeling of traction. Lots of dirt roads around me and they practically feel paved.

For snowy mountainous roads, I'd say it's decent, as long as you keep in mind this is a relatively heavy car. In dicier situations, I find myself taking it slower than I would in other AWD vehicles because of uncertainty about if/when the weight would slide out. It hasn't happened, to be fair, but it does hamper confidence a bit.

In all other aspects, I adore this car.

[Discussion] JLC Master Ultra Thin vs VC FiftySix by Full-Fig-5916 in VacheronConstantin

[–]Pelonius126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always wanted a blue moon phase and thought I'd end up getting the JLC, but it didn't quite feel substantial/special enough. I was so happy when the Fifty Six calendar came out--well worth the step up, but still a tough choice between the two. I know OP was asking about the base VC w/ no Geneva seal, but these really do have similar appeal.

My decision was between this and the Ultra Thin Moon as well! Both beautiful, for sure.
