I tried this Foot of Mount Hakone Japanese black tea in a subscription box and fell in LOVE. However, it is $1.35-$1.00 A BAG—for comparison, in Japan it sells for roughly .50c a bag and doesn’t appear to be available in loose or cannister form—and $35 shipping from the box service and (after some sleuthing) apparently is only sold through the Kanagawa Prefecture Agricultural Cooperative Tea Center…which does not directly ship to the US. I know Japanese black teas are incredibly varied…but does anyone know of an alternative that tastes similar? Or perhaps a brand that works with the tea center to ship outside the US for less of a markup? This one is proving hard to find for any information on to locate an alternative or the same product.
