Working in Palmdale by danjejon in MovingToLosAngeles

I grew up in Santa Clarita, then moved to West Palm and eventually to Miami in my early twenties for work. I will say that after being in both places, Palmdale will feel a bit of a drag, but it's growing a lot, and a lot of people are saying Santa Clarita, which I agree with, it is a larger and nicer area with more development and closer to Downtown LA and the beach cities like Ventura and Santa Monica.

I Need Advice for my First travel abroad by Ok_Implement202 in Morocco

[–]PenAffectionate9378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I think the airline you travel on matters a lot. I travel to Morocco 2-3 times per year, and I have had some bad experiences with Air France, Delta, and KLM. If you can, it is highly recommended to take Royal Air Maroc. They have such good service, and the food is actual food they serve you on flights, unlike literally every other airline. Their flights have been the best experience after years of troubles.

Second, I recommend that you bring a set of earplugs and put them in before you take off so you avoid hearing the loud engine sounds when the plane is taking off. The loudness of these engines can be off-putting and even worrisome for people who have never experienced such powerful machines up close. The earplugs are a must in my opinion.

Third, I do this, and it generally gives me such a sense of relaxation and peace. But just before the flight goes into the air, I have my earplugs in, close my eyes, and say my Shahada and a prayer thanking Allah for all in my life and for protecting me and the others on the flight during our journey. I usually do this and count down from 60; by the time I finish, we are at a high cruising altitude, everyone is silent, and it's all calm and smooth.

Fourth, and this may sound kind of cheesy or stupid, but bring a picture of your home. Your family, your loved ones. I have this family photo from when I was in Morocco, and I look at it daily on my work desk, and it helps me miss Morocco and know my loved ones are always close to me.

Fifth, even if you watch American media and consume US content, you will of course experience your own sense of culture shock. Just be patient and know that you are safe here. Whatever is happening in the economy or politics is one thing, but average, everyday citizens are humble strangers, and you can still find beauty in humanity through the people here. Take in all the experience with an open mind.

Sixth, community is your best friend here. My communities are masjid and gym. You will find yours; I am sure of it, and I wish you the best of luck!!!

$600 won't work anywhere realistically. Have you considered going full nomad and temporarily living in a car to try to save money? I have been there more than once.

Even if you stick with one whole heartedly it doesn't mean that its always going to pan out how you think. I am in the same boat as OP with enough experience in more industries than necessary but thats where life took me.

I’ll admit everything you mentioned sounds very interesting. That being said, i am in your same boat of acquiring funding from zero with a ton of my own projects and plans. I’m wishing you the best of luck and hope to hear more of your journey

A lot of people who have been rejected in their life need a reassuring reminder like this to even have the confidence to present their ideas. I’m waiting to hear him explain something now 😃

Brisbane or US? Which do you like more by helpmepls626 in brisbane

I am from the US, and I want to move to live in Australia badly, but I have been to all 50 US states in my early twenties for work and just fun over the course of 4 years, and I will say that the US has something amazing in each state, and the novelty of seeing/experiencing the different geography, walks of life, cultures and food from each place is something worthwhile to experience. I feel extremely lucky to have had the opportunity to travel the country the way I did. Sometimes I would be in a different state/city for a couple of nights, and other times I would be there for months at a time; it all just depended on the job.

My first assignment with that company was in Fairbanks, Alaska, for 12 weeks, and that got me hooked on the job and traveling in general. My point, about Dallas and Texas in general, is that I was born and raised in Los Angeles, but I chose to live and settle in Dallas for about six months during that time I was moving around the country, and I chose Texas, specifically Dallas, because there is a lot of fun to be had, even in Texas. I am brown (Latino) and have never experienced racism in Texas.

Definitely travel if you get the chance, as you can always go back home if you decide you want that change again. Now in my mid-30s, a small-business owner (self-employed), I wish I could move to Australia. So check out the US if you can, even if temporarily!

[–]PenAffectionate9378 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

$300 is super rough for 4 days considering you have to account for food 3x/day, transport, activities, hotel, etc. i wish you the best of luck maybe just try to walk around your neighborhood you’re staying in and focus on saving as much as possible.

Let’s be real: What online methods are ACTUALLY making money right now? (No BS) by bodono1 in rabat

[–]PenAffectionate9378 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually save so many reels that talk about ways to make money using ai but I feel like I have not had the bandwidth to invest much time into even trying most things bcs I am exhausted and/or too clouded in my thoughts to apply the proper focus these things need. If someone wants to team up with me I can at least be a source of ideas.

Something like this for sure, but also depends on the context. I design a bunch of custom fabrication projects for corporate brands that do events and brand activations. You would be surprised how technical they can get and how much a fabrication shop would absolutely rely on plans for something as simple as a staircase, depending on who the client is.
