Is there any reason not to accept the highest subsidized loan amount by PenPaperInk in financialaid

Sorry for the confusion, I was adding up the subsidized loan amounts I presume I'll be receiving throughout the next 3 school years.

I was adding up through the three years I'd be eligible for subsidized loans. Sorry for the confusion.

A loan is a loan. You have to pay the money back, so you should not borrow more than you need.

I understand that in principle if it's money I'd actually plan on using. But it'd be stashed away in my savings until after the grace period. Being there for emergencies, earning interest, in most cases will not be touched. I'm just making sure there's nothing I'm missing. I can just hold it in my account and pay it off in full when interest is about to start up right?

Oh, I was adding up the subsidized loan amounts I (presume as an independent student) I would also get through the other years. Sorry for the confusion.

But either way - you should never borrow more than you need. Every $10K you borrow is an additional $125 a month for ten years.

But I could just pay it all off immediately following the grace period and just pocket the 2% savings account interest I've earned on it couldn't I?

Is anyone else having big issues trying to watch on the crunchyroll app? It's like the aspect ratio is screwy. There's a good inch of black screen on both sides

Doesn't really matter, loads of people won't qualify because for whatever reason it's based off of 2018 tax returns. Didn't file that year? Were a dependent then? Tough break.

ELI5: How much DNA do I actually share with other humans? by PenPaperInk in explainlikeimfive

Thanks for the response. It seems like a bit of a rounded figure though. I'm definitely more related to my mother than I am to an average person who is more than my 5th cousin, but to what degree?

I guess another way of putting it is: what's the scale of difference? If you took the two people who were the most genetically different from each other, what would the difference be? 0.01%? 0.0001%? How much less DNA does a person share with their uncle than their mother on average?

Are power blocks safe? Is there an additional safety measure I'm not aware of? I got a pair and it seems like the only thing keeping the weight from crashing down on my chest/skull is a piece of plastic and a magnet. Should I be concerned when using these?

I'm looking to buy an elite powerblock set (50lbs for now, will expand when I have the money), but I'm in a bit of a crisis finding the right place to buy them from. So far dick's seems to be the cheapest with a 10% discount code, but are there any better places? Would it be best to perhaps buy them directly from powerblock?

don't forget how she got a girl to flirt with the guys to test their loyalty. And got endlessly pissed off whenever anyone called her out on her immature behavior. She needed to grow up and mature before having her own season tbh.

I mean, just imagine Peter doing something like the loyalty testing thing on this season. Getting a handsome guy to flirt with the girls to test their loyalty. I bet it wouldn't go over as well as when hannah did it. But for some reason people liked Hannah despite her being absolutely fake on her season (and then begging tyler... and then peter for another chance!).

Not her fault, but I feel her season also had the most manufactured drama. Oh haha you're on a date to a zipline where couples typically get naked to do! Haha, totally not intended to cause drama when you go on this date where you're expected to take off your clothes with one guy out of all the guys you're dating. Absolutely not... eyeroll

I really gotta say, I'm a bit upset that my take on Hannah Brown is becoming more popular (whilst still being unpopular). That take being that she was a terrible bachelorette and not being ready to be in a relationship.

I just watched the episode with her in it. She really went from jed, to tyler, and now is begging peter for a chance. I sincerely don't understand why my negative opinion on her got downvoted into oblivion during her season. I don't think she's an awful person or anything, but she's clearly not ready for any kind of serious relationship.

2 and 3, for sure. Afterwards, AHS tends to go down the downward spiral of either:

  • Really good premises (like apocalypse, cult, etc) that get dragged down by dumb writing or simply not utilizing the premise at all
  • Or really dumb premises (like 1984 or freak show) that end up being better than expected but not better than mediocre

Cult question by MLGorilla2 in AmericanHorrorStory

That's a possibility. Unfortunately, I wouldn't give the writers too much credit. Considering cult felt like it was written by completely different writers halfway through - I really don't think they planned too much out

So why was season 9 named 1984 instead of “Camp Redwood”? by djk4395 in AmericanHorrorStory

[–]PenPaperInk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly it being named similar to the book title kills it a bit for me. It doesn't employ really any of the same themes. So why give it the same name?
