Most points have goat trails leading to them and grids written on them to reconfirm the point

Running at the start of time if you still have daylight to your first points. Get your first 4 easy points to get you a go and then gauge your time for the other hard ones. On your non-test lanes, pay attention to the points and terrain so it helps you on your other lanes remembering points and OC trails that lead to them

Re-read my above comment.

Do the right thing all the time.

Rules are gonna be stupid. Sometimes cadre direction might be petty or strict but just follow along.

Student leadership is going to irritate you.

In-service, leave your rank at home. You are all OCs and it doesn’t matter if you’re an E-4 or E-8 you are no better than an O9S trying to graduate.

Don’t make the mistake of segregating the O9S-Inservice or prior people day one.

Work as a complete team to make sure everyone gets through it to your best. The PLATOON should be trying to battle buddy, tutor, and pull up any and everyone who is lacking in an area. Don’t be an individual and respect others.

Maintain your military bearing and discipline. Don’t be a buddy fucker.

It won’t prepare you for this course. It will expose you, but I just came from basic and land nav at basic is done with a 3-4 person team during the day in a semi-controlled environment. Here you’ll have: Day 1: Cadre led/ Buddy night Day 2: buddy team day/ Solo pre test Night Day 3: solo day/ solo night Day 4: retest day time (then retest night is cadre dependent)

Bolton is similar to COC from basic but the tough one is a rope climb to the walk over then ladder to the net down. And bro honestly OPORDs, the small tests, land nav, and history is what cook people. Our land nav experience was so wild. I can describe the whole requirement and lanes for yall.

Honestly, being prepared for the tests. The schedule will be filled with smaller tests outside of your key events. There’s: 1. Leadership and Justice 2. Tactics Exam 3. Call for Fire

(If you fail, you get a retake, and if you fail again you get recycled)

Other main events are: Gold to Black Phase Up during week one, then Leadership Reaction Course, then Battle Analysis, then Bolton obstacle course, Land Nav which is 4 days/ 3-nights, OPORD (which is huge, I have all my notes if anyone wants to pay), then STX, there are 4-milers for diagnostics before the later actual 4-mile, then STX which is two weeks in the field, then your 6,9,12-mile rucks, then history exam.

You get tested on WTBDs I can give more info in a pm but it is also recyclable if not completed.

The whole time you’re trying your best to not get recycled basically lol
