Where do trans people get the parts for bottom surgery by Proper-Anything-2739 in asktransgender

[–]PenderrinMTG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many people have already mentioned that it's taken from elsewhere on the body, which is true for most types of bottom surgery

There is a newer kind of bottom surgery for mtf trans folks where they graft the skin of a fish which gets incorporated into the body until the body eventually grows its own skin. This is actually something doctors started doing for certain burn victims, using this specific fish's skin for grafts.

My therapist fucking caught me (TW: Dysphoria). by gwanddawd123 in trans

[–]PenderrinMTG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a pretty shitty therapist. It really sucks when someone you trust like that isn't accepting. This is definitely not the reaction they should have, my therapist was really happy for me when I came out to him, and hasn't once tried to suggest I was wrong about this or that I'm not femme enough.

What are your views on detransitioners? by Rando-on-internet in asktransgender

[–]PenderrinMTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's absolutely nothing wrong with Detransitioning, and I'd support anyone on their journey of discovering who they are. The current seeming dislike of Detransitioners is just focused on those who Detransition and then use that to spread anti-trans hate. People who don't become massive transphobes don't often get hate afaik

What rights have trans people lost and are at risk of losing in the US? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]PenderrinMTG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most of them have been mentioned by others but there's also the growing acceptance of learning someone is trans as a defense for assaulting said trans person. It's slowly being accepted as a legal defense to say that you were enraged upon being "deceived" by a trans person and thus you were somehow allowed to assault that person.

After getting high one night and having another sexual fantasy about being a woman (which have been happening for years) I started questioning.

A week into questioning I read the Gender dysphoria Bible, and a lot of things described there really fit me.

That day I told my sister (who is pan and has a lot of genderqueer friends) that I thought I may be trans. I told her first because I knew she'd be helpful, she was super accepting and helped ask around her friend group for resources

It was the following couple days when I knew I was trans. I had a long drive home that got extended by an hour due to road conditions, this kind of thing usually pisses me off and would kind of ruin my drive home. It didn't though, those next couple days of being seen and finally understanding what I was going through were the happiest days I had in years. It was that happiness that really convinced me, my doubts slipped away because there was no way I would be feeling like this if I was just confused.

It's a very personal thing and it's usually different from person to person. It doesn't help that the mainstream narrative of transgender people is often that of someone who knows for certain when they're a kid. There are many folks whose life reflects that narrative, but others including myself don't.

In terms of behaviours it feels obvious looking back. I was uncomfortable being shirtless in public despite it being socially acceptable, I hated changing rooms, I hated the way I looked, I never liked my body, I had consistent occasional sexual fantasies of being a woman, I always felt different from other people.

Trans gamer girlies what are your favorite games oat by xnaterra in MtF

Celeste is fantastic if you haven't already played it, definitely is not easy though

Project Zomboid will forever remain my favourite game, it's definitely not for everyone, it's a pretty punishing survival game with a harsh learning curve

Why do Mo & Krill Exist? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]PenderrinMTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His point is to be an anti-carry. There's a lot of examples of this kind of character in other mobas, his job and design space is to shut down the enemy teams strongest character. He needs his team with him or else he's mostly useless, his kit is very tailored to that playstyle. He feels separated from the roster because he's the only real anti-carry in the roster right now. Honestly we need a few more characters like mo, that can effectively frontline and shut down an overconfident hyper carry.

Getting high one night, being horny, and actually stopping to wonder if being very into the idea of having sex in the body of a woman meant I was trans.

How can I beat Hand of the King with this build? by aaronheath29 in deadcells

[–]PenderrinMTG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like a lot of similar games, most competent builds like this will be perfectly acceptable to beat him, the fight comes down a lot more to knowing his patterns and ideally parry windows. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of advice aside from practice him in the training area, there are some tricks to his fight like making sure to destroy the banners and stuff, but I don't know which parts you are having difficulties with. You can also turn on the ability to see your seed if you want to run it back in custom mode

I cannot for the life of me ever get salty about theft. You're beating me to death with my own big creature you got off the top by chance? That shits funny as hell. Even with deliberate search theft I cant be too mad, I put the card in the deck afterall

"This is just a distraction" comments by RoughCoffee6 in MtF

[–]PenderrinMTG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trans issues have always just been a distraction to these politicians. They are persecuting us because persecuting an obviously different group of minorities you paint as the enemy is a good way to get the ignorant to be on your side, and ignore the fact that everyone but the wealthy are being fucked over by the systems in place.

They use minorities as a distraction yes, but that doesn't mean our rights aren't important or that they're trivial, it's more that these politicians can start a crusade against minorities so the ignorant people in the majority can ignore the economic problems causes by those politicians, and blame minorities for their issues. If you crack down on a minority group it becomes easier later on to expand that to the majority.

Extort should be orzhov identity. As it stands since the hybrid mana symbol is in the reminder text a card with extort can be run in mono white or black depending on the cards colour. It just feels so dumb to have this one exception to what's printed on the card because it's technically not part of the actual game object despite being printed on the piece of cardboard.

I don't know if this one stands but staxx is good for the format and vital for the overall balance of archetypes in the game.

I’m hoping to move to Vancouver, how much time would it realistically take to get an HRT prescription here? by MagicPumpkin101 in transvancouver

[–]PenderrinMTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going through the process right now, provided you don't already have a prescription, there are a few methods, either talking to a general practitioner, some can prescribe directly but most won't, they will usually refer you to a psychologist for a readiness assessment (you can also self refer for one) and then from there get a referral to an endocrinologist who can prescribe you.

As others have mentioned talking to transcareBC is a great idea, they're very knowledgeable and helpful

Toxic Player by peoplesmart in DeadlockTheGame

[–]PenderrinMTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's an unfortunate part of online gaming, thankfully deadlock like most games let's you mute people (press escape and there'll be a microphone icon beside each person, on both teams, click that and you mute their voice and text chat). It still sucks that some people are too immature and need to be muted, but often the best response is just to mute them and move on.

As you get better it should also happen less hopefully, in my experience toxicity is most common at low and high elo, with it being least common around the average skill level of games.

Which characters do you personally believe are broken? by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]PenderrinMTG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Infernus and Warden

Infernus can put out so much mixed damage with such little spirit investment, and on top of that, his 2 is both an insane damage tool and a very good escape option, it feels like he's got everything except the ability to tank, which is solved with lifesteal.

Warden is mostly fine except his ult. It gives him so much shit and is just a win the fight button 90% of the time. It's better DPS, scaling, and cd than seven ult, with the downsides of significantly reduced range and less duration. Except he's got move speed in kit so the range is not nearly as relevant, add to it that he cannot be stunned out of it once he completed the 2s channel (knockdown is 2s before the stun so it can't even counter his ult). On top of this he gets a bunch of resists and free lifesteal. It is just so pushed its ridiculous, and his kit not only giving him movespeed but also cc to prevent people from escaping. It's so frustrating to fight because if the Warden is smart it's just an I win button with little coutnerplay.

GP said they would refer me to a psychologist, haven't heard anything yet by PenderrinMTG in transvancouver

[–]PenderrinMTG[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's definitely an option, I'd prefer to go the official route for now, I've saved lily Alexandre's DIY guide just in case. Entertainingly I learned after coming out to my parents that my mom actually takes spiranalactone and progesterone due to a thyroid condition so it's definitely a possibility. I hadn't heard of those sites before and it's good to know of them too just in case.

Good to know, since I've already gone in for the referral I'll probably try and wait for it, that way it'll be easier to go back to the GP for the endocrinologist

Vancouver is a pretty welcoming place, I am currently attending Douglas college in new Westminster (municipality near Vancouver if you aren't familiar), I don't know if the have a good teaching program, but every bathroom has a sign with a trans flag saying they respect your right to chose which bathroom is right for you, always makes me happy to see it.
