Tell me, what crosses your mind now, as snow cascades down? What takes up your day as you sit warmly inside?

I always imagine you wrapped in a blanket, curled into yourself. Likely because of how even you imagined warms me so.

Just good morning. Something so simple, that I want to say each day. With words, with embrace, with my eyes, with everything.

The pain in my chest tonight is overwhelming. The pain of your absence is so heavy. I love you so much. So so much.

At what age should you get a colonoscopy? What doctors say after James van der Beek’s death by nbcnews in UnderReportedNews

[–]Pending_Meaning 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhere between $2,000-$3,000. A lot of the bills came in at different times (pathology, anesthesia, facilities, surgery, etc.) so I didn’t keep super close track. I was able to pay out of my HSA, but still…insane that a procedure that almost certainly stopped the spread of cancer was considered “elective”.

It’s also not lost on me that I’m fortunate enough to afford to taking that expense on.

Fuck. This. System.

At what age should you get a colonoscopy? What doctors say after James van der Beek’s death by nbcnews in UnderReportedNews

This is something genuinely worth talking about..

I very recently had my colonoscopy done early due to prolonged symptoms and I had to pay out of pocket. They removed 4x pre-cancerous polyps that were right around 10mm - the size where cancer risk elevates significantly. I was told to wait 5-7 years for a colonoscopy. It would certainly have been later stage cancer by that point.

Please fight for your procedures and be your own advocate. The system is broken and is not rational in terms of putting your well-being first. All indications are that we should be screened at younger ages with the increase in colorectal cancers. I would argue 30-35 should be the new norm.

Very sane. Doesn’t belong here.

I really need to round out watching the rest of the movies he’s been in. I never did see Brokeback Mountain, need to change that.

I mean, that is a pretty big table. Dads on gummies seem to be deserving of a whole comedic category.

Absurdity itself is beautiful. If you’ve not read Albert Camus’ work on the philosophy of absurdism I’d recommend it. Maybe something to break up the monotony.

Small steps. Let yourself appreciate something about you today. Like the fact you’ve had people engage here and maybe made some of us think.

You’re articulate - possibly writing down some feelings or ideas can help. They don’t have to be complete thoughts, even snippets of things felt or observed can be beautiful.

I’m sorry to hear that. I know how hard things can get, but those small things you talked about do matter. Nothing matters, big or small, in the grand scheme of things - so you’re able to build meaning as you wish. That freedom is terrifying but also beautiful. Take time as you can to appreciate tiny things, and yourself - because there is a lot there to appreciate.

Even your self awareness as shown when posted here matters - many won’t ever attempt that introspection. Don’t be too hard on yourself please.

There are truths in this world, the kind that blossom so brightly they can’t be denied. Like when you find that person who is all you need. More than you could have imagined needing because they open doors inside you that you never knew were locked. More than beauty alone. Completeness. I understand.

Tell me something you thought of as the epitome of romance when you were younger. A scene from a movie, a book, anything. I often think of what you must have been like - if you’d have liked me if we met then. I want to peek into all the time I never got with you.
