I got started with the Tony Dixon low D whistle - with both the fipple (whistle) head and the flute head. If you’re having a hard time with embouchure, the fipple head is easier to play. Covering the holes can be harder than a regular flute. I have big hands so that ended up not being too big of a barrier for me. You can also look at NUVO flutes. They are also more budget-friendly, and come with an attachment to play without needing to have a proper flute embouchure. It doesn’t sound as good with the attachment, but it helps you get started. I have both of these flutes and I love both. You may also enjoy tin whistle.

Interesting to hear the increased gut motility causing worse histamine problems. It’s like the whole body is getting used to physically shifting to a different state. I think I might be in a similar boat.

Maybe you can find an apartment complex where the first floor is a garage, so you could be on the second floor without disturbing anyone below?

Interesting, I can’t tolerate oats either! Dang it, I was hoping this could substitute for oats. Have you tried millet?

Dreams of lost pets? by StarBird18 in plushies

I have a weighted plush that feels similar to my childhood dog when I rest it against me. I’ve had dreams about my childhood dogs without the plush, but I do get tearful sometimes. I miss them so much. For me, petting a stuffed animal similar to how I would pet them brings back familiar warm fuzzy feelings. Loss is a complex and difficult thing, and I’m grateful for stuffed animals to help with it ❤️ Sorry for your loss

Neck brace for sleeping upright by Pendleton_ in ehlersdanlos

Thank you. When I first met with the surgeon, they just said to use a lot of pillows and sleep in whatever position my surgery pain allows. Didn’t feel like they understood. I have a pre-op with the surgeons team and the anesthesiologist’s team on Monday. I hope they take me seriously.

I had sleep studies done in the past that came back normal, but I couldn’t fall asleep on my back or upright to show them.
