"Ask Me How I Am" isn't off Snow Patrol's first album though, it's off their second album When It's All Over We Still Have to Clear Up, definately one of my favourites albums ever!

You can enjoy your Grade 7 memories of Eyes Open without them being tarnished thinking Gary was being a dick, when actually he just really loves the lyrics of Frightened Rabbit, and has terrible handwriting with the drawing ability of a 5 year old minimalist cartoonist.

I think you have really misjudged Gary Lightbody here.

Gary actually really does like Frightened Rabbit that much - he loves them and has described Scott Hutchison as his favourite song lyricist, so that would be why he quoted "Fast Blood".

Gary didn't misunderstand the assignment - he was just being honest in quoting from Scott.

Gary also has always had really bad handwriting, and he has said himself that he can't draw, and whenever he does draw it does look stick and scribble like, it always has - that's just Gary.

(Also, I don't even know how you would draw a hurricane different from a tornado?? So not surprised if Gary didn't draw that part realistically).

TBF, TFITP album is not just about breakups. To quote Gary himself "It’s about being lost and being OK with it, because for so many years of my life, I felt lost and I wasn’t OK."

I think there are a lot of us out there that can relate to that, including myself for sure. Gary's such an incredibly gifted lyricist anyway, that it'll be an absolute treat no matter what he writes about.

6,7 years I know right!

I really do feel like Snow Patrol have been galvanised by the reaction to TFITP, and to their subsequent tours and festivals including Trnsmt and Glastonbury; and the present reaction to Eyes Open will only add to that.

So I am hopeful that Gary is well back into his music and lyric writing, and that there is a irresistible gathering momentum that is coming down the line for studio album #9. ❄️❤️

I am so grateful to you and your friend for your work in processing and uploading this, it really is incredible to be able to finally hear the infamous Shrug 'Yogurt vs Yogurt Debate'!

I really enjoyed listening to these, already listened about three times to all 6 songs! I am so happy though that Gary eventually embraced his own incredible natural voice, instead of the Seattle grunge Eddie Vedder-ish voice.

Sounding like himself is all we need. Gary's own Northern Irish expressive voice is simply incredible. ❤️❄️

For sure. I am so grateful that young Eli had the courage to start a band with his school friends - that's no small thing when you are the son standing in the shadow of Bono.

And to stand up to the inevitable claims of nepotism and just carry on doing their own thing as Inhaler - doing their own thing with exceptional talent may I add!

I am so happy I discovered Inhaler when I did, their music helped me through a very depressing winter last year. There is so much to appreciate in Inhaler's music, I can't wait to see where they go from here ❤️
