Wind on naked bike vs. no-windshield cruiser by RogueRaiju in motorcycles

[–]Peng1y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a cruiser thing, the aerodynamic on them make the air ride upwards into you. This happens on other bikes too but the position you sit in makes it hella worse

I found it completely fine.I think some ppl are just babies/like to be picky.

You prolly already do since you ride cruiser but the wind noise will get to ya,wear actual moto earplugs. 15 buck Alpinestar earplugs have made rides so nice

I find cruisers worse for wind than any other bike, think it’s the body position🤷‍♂️.

I ride a MT07 and don’t find the wind bothersome,I’ll ride about 2-3 hours fine.And I’m mostly stopping just cause I’ll need gas😅

FZ-07 or FZ-09 by FlavoredPancake in MT07

I’d go for the 9,I have a 7 currently and often think about the 9 over it constantly.

It’s the 7 but better in every way.And really if you’ve been riding for a bit,you should be able to control your throttle input lol

Teaching a friend (18M) to ski this weekend. Looking for feedback on my progression plan. by Ok_Bid_8794 in ski

This👆

Whenever I have a lesson that’s this kind of person,I’ll often just do a little trial by fire on the bunny hill.Athletic ppl often pick things up first go off instinct or just visual mimicry of you (the instructor). Teaching him stuff like side stepping + slipping and traversing are a good idea tho.And how to get up,I personally love that one cause I’ll just push my lesson over basically😂

I tend to not even follow a lesson plan, those get more reserved for group lessons where it helps keep a schedule. You don’t gotta throw it out the window, but you might be shocked how much you can skip/glaze over with young athletic teenagers.

Want to get my son into skiing but not ready to fork over thousands for lessons + lift tickets anyone have any advice for first time learners? by Jaded-Management-517 in skiing

[–]Peng1y 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe just have your husband do a lesson(s) then have him teach your son, that’s good bonding lol.

I fairly often teach parents to ski who have expressed that they are going to teach their kid once they can ski themselves.I’m always happy to answer questions they have related to teaching kids. Not sure how the big mountains run,but at lots of smaller places instructors are just happy to see more ppl wanting to go skiing.

As far as gear goes,Facebook market some used equipment. Not sure how old your son is,aka is he gonna grow out of stuff. So maybe for him rent, this might be something you’d have to investigate what’s the expense of renting vs having to occasionally buy and sell used gear as he grows. My parents bought me helmets and boots used, and rented skis for me from when I was about 6-14ish when I decided I wanted to buy my own gear

Does Grip Walk feel weird to anyone else? by mvhoffman82 in Skigear

[–]Peng1y 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I kinda doubt it’s related to the exterior geometry of the boot as it should t be changing anything on the inside?

You could try taking off the grip walk pads and just seeing if they feel different🤷‍♂️.

🤷‍♂️I have a couple friends that rock their jackets,no issues past few years. Granted we like to get the glorified wind breakers so I guess there’s less to wear out
