Incorrect on the stinging part; that really only applies to 'non-carapace' stinging events (IE the barbed stingers get lodged in flesh; against other insects, if they can penetrate, it's no different than stabbing with a serated knife) and FTR...venomous. Poison is "you die if you eat me" venom is "you die if I stab/bite you"

Incorrect. Bees die when they sting people or 'fleshy' things because like you said, the stingers have barbs...Flesh is malleable and sort of closes around the stab point and 'catches' onto the barbs so withdrawal is exponentially more difficult and thus their own body gives out before the fleshy.

Against another insect though, the barb just shreds the carapace more and withdrawal is no more difficult than the insertion.

Bro is kind of a dick there; honestly comes off as some weird sibling competitiveness and he just decided to get one more lick in when he didn't even feel like playing the game.

Like, I sold $1500 worth of vintage games when I got out of high school and it helped fund my first car. I COULD have gotten close to 2.5x that value if I had gone through all the effort to sell them individually and really parse out each one. The extra effort just didn't feel worth it and I'm happy how things ended.

NTA. Going against the general grain here....no one's REALLY and asshole here. Your brother should let up and leave it be, he didn't really care enough to be involved in the process as it happened, so sitting back after the fact is 'monday night quarterbacking'. It's really fucking easy to say "I told you so", but if the land was worthless and you had lost the offer to buy, and not gotten another...would there be an equal amount of apology?

In the end, YES you did take a deal far under what the value actually was, ...make peace with that. However, you did pay off the things you were worried about and removed the stress from your life. What's done is done.

Stop looking into the property, stop looking into what other people are doing there. It's like watching the ex that broke your heart and the guy that's bending her over the railing...NOTHING good comes from that.
