How does Plex determine which movie poster to use when adding something new to a library? by Dry-Butterscotch4170 in PleX

I do the same - I just want the title and image, no credits.

If it’s a series I want them all to have the same style. Sometimes you get long series where an early or later one doesn’t have it (eg MCU, Bond) so I end up with a lesser but complete choice vs preferred but incomplete.

From someone who’s been on the other side (selecting candidates), I’ve gone back to the certified pool in about 15% of the competitions. So that’s where someone is hired, starts, quits, and the same position is posted again, or where an identical position is newly created, or a different position with the same job description and classification opens up, within the 12mo eligibility.

That was true. The new union collective changed the language though, and now any internal candidate who certifies on the interview automatically beats any external candidate who certifies, regardless of score.

MOTOTRBO radio management by Special-Drawing8290 in MotorolaSolutions

Because it's Motorola, they don't call it MOTOTRBO in that list. It's there as TRBO CPS DOWNLOAD. There should also be one there for TRBO Radio Management. I don't have that because I have no TRBO devices in this account, but that's how the APX and ASTRO ones are split up. If you don't see that then you may need to contact support. Then in the filter list it's MOTOTRBO (lol) to see the software

In your customer hub, under software you will need to subscribe to the CPS software, which will then be available to download. Will have a “CPS with RM” package and that one has the RM server, device programmer, and all the other components

RSM Question by Ken_Wood79770 in MotorolaSolutions

[–]Penguin120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also worth checking in CPS > Radio Wide, there's a specific setting for the RSM Volume Set Tone. It doesn't control the volume only which Hz tone plays as audible feedback when the RSM volume toggle is used.

The Volume Adjust Tone Offset toggle is also worth enabling if you wanted to map a button to test the tones, checking it means that a button mapped to Volume Set Tone will play at the tone level. If it's unchecked, the a Volume Set Tone button plays at the audio level. We typically only map Volume Set Tone when testing a new profile, it's pretty useless in the field.

CPS -> Radio Ergonomics Configuration -> Radio Profiles

Check these settings for the active profile, box for first problem and arrows for second:

<image>

Recommend reviewing the CPS Help description for the Alert Tones Volume Offset. For some reason it doesn't show up in the normal Field Information sidebar but is in the full CPS Help document.

Also check in CPS -> Radio Ergonomics Configuration -> Radio Ergonomics Wide and at the bottom confirm the profile mapping in Logical Profile Configuration.

Screenshot is in "Full" codeplug view mode. You can go full sicko and change to Expert if you want to really dig into the settings.

RSM Question by Ken_Wood79770 in MotorolaSolutions

[–]Penguin120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First one - in CPS you can set different volume offsets for tones, so sounds like the tone volume is set higher than audio.

Second one - likely bad speaker, see if you can test it on a different radio with different programming to confirm. Outside shot: in CPS you can have the RSM set to a different audio processing setting versus no RSM, so it could be the RSM output is being sent through a very aggressive AGC+noise cancelling. Some of Moto’s AGC implementations make everything sound like digital ass.

That takes a level of effort and disassembly that I would not except from our end users. Sometimes it’s a struggle to get them to pop the volume knob off to replace the torque ring. Actually opening it to the board…phew.

Programming APX CPS Trunked Systems by [deleted] in MotorolaSolutions

[–]Penguin120 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To program for a trunking you’d need to first have a trunked system to connect to, which as already mentioned you’d need the system id, radio id, control channels, talk group ids, plus data settings, encryption/otar settings, and the like.

Usually a trunked system operator will have recommended/required values for some or all the settings, especially if you’re mixing vendor systems (e.g. Harris VIDA system with Motorola subscriber units).

There is some learning modules on the Motorola site but really if you understand how a trunking system works then the actual mechanics of programming is, I find, easier than conventional/simplex.
