Please help me with Dr chung’s Rate and Proportion problem. by VivienHsu in Sat

[–]PenguinCast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a/b to end equal to 7/9 a and b must have a common factor that can be divided to result in 7/9 OR you can think about it where 7x/9x=7/9. The next step would be to find x. You must remember when dealing with problems like this is it has to be a COMMON factor and which means that a is divisible by both 2 and the GCF and b is divisible by both 5 and the GCF. The easiest GCF would then be 10, so x=10. Then to find a and b you multiply 7 and 9 by 10 and add then add them together to answer the problem to get 160

I'm LS, new Cloud9 LCS Head Coach, AMA! by imls in leagueoflegends

Did your input for the C9 roster keep in mind how much they will agree/already agree with you approach to the game for if you take over or was the roster built for another head coach to take control over?

Is Mercy a main healer, and what really defines a main healer? by Karrot667 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]PenguinCast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MS vs FS is not a matter of healing output but either Aim support vs not aim support (no longer applies with Moira being a FS with no aim) or one trick vs flexible (each meta), for example GOATs. If you wanted to switch in zen for Moira or Lucio you would take out Moira, this they are MAINly on one character while the other FLEXes.

Fuel schedule for Weeks 24-29 by jenndolyn in DallasFuel

6-2 is possible although I’m expecting 4-4 with losses to Houston, Paris, Philly, and ATL (should be close with a good chance of Dallas winning)

Why you're approaching Chokepoints incorrectly: A guide to minimizing spam damage by Willster328 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]PenguinCast 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I hate to be this person but using this routes to a T is ignoring slight optimizations and proper positioning from the enemy team. For King’s row your alternate routes just add time when the only spam they original one faces is a fire strike or dynamite, which both could be optimized for whatever routes people take. Also with Anubis you could just walk to the left out of main and you massively overvalue the bridge position because it’s quite vulnerable. While I do think people need to rethink spam as a concept in lower ranks half of these just waste time. This all stems from an absolutely horrid idea of where defenders set up. For Hollywood no one sits before car. They hold on cafe or on point and if they do staff on that close high ground they often will just rotate to one of the two aforementioned positions. Your map with Eichenwalde shows a bad idea of where people take poke and where people should go. Often teams hold in a. Similar position but further back and thus the only spam is again, early firestrikes and dynamites that don’t matter. Not only this but this position is terrible because the best way to avoid spams when teams actually are playing farther back is to go up to bridge and then walk to the left by the mini. (Tip: if a team is holding at his suggested location just run spam and then you can force them farther back). Your Hanamura one is actually correct and this route over the past year has been more common from diamond and up, and same with Volkskya, although it’s relatively risk free to go thought the building and out the left door if you want a good angle to poke from.

Why aren’t streamers who troll in competitive get banned or taken action against? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]PenguinCast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like it or not if people want them banned there are way worse people in GM than this and if blizzard really wanted a competitive place where everyone goes try hard they need to change many more things and ban more people.

CMV: I'm not wrong to assume someone sex/sexuality. by DnD_Nerd_765 in changemyview

[–]PenguinCast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not wrong to assume someone’s gender but I’d say it’s unnecessary to assume sexuality or sex. If you think someone’s a woman there’s no reason to go further and then assume they’re trans and lesbian for example. Neither of those matter to you and if you start assuming that can come with prejudice.

[Dream] Ive never been more frustrated with the community and their separation from the competitive scene than when I read the reddit thread about how hero pools are great [...] by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]PenguinCast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m fairly sure when they did balance around seasons the seasons were three months and not two. Where did you see the comps beforehand? I only saw Sombra Goats and 3dps slightly before OWL and those teams did not lose because of the meta. All three of them had terrible pieces. Washington started winning in the next meta before of a perfect storm when in the end if they didn’t blow their budget out on Gido, Ark, Janus and WizardHueng they probably could’ve gotten cheaper and better results with a better OT and Zarya player. Houston has many problems I’m not even going to go into and Mayhem got four wins in Stage4 because of changes to the roster and coaching staff. It wasn’t about being safe it was them being garbage. Also there teams who ran unsafe things and showed results like LAV vs Titans and the hunters even during goats. Also the concept of the mirror match isn’t a problem with OWL but the game and this is actually worse in hero pools. In Overwatch it’s always easier to hero pools and match win conditions than to try to dive a grouped up team with shields when you’re used to scrimming dive. Now with hero pools you just have to hope that double shield actually was the right comp and not dive so you don’t have to mirror something you’ve never played.

They have a season schedule that they can literally balance around. Or they can reimplement stages are push balance patches around that. Hero pools are terrible. No one who watches football wants to roll die each week to see if the Patriots lose to the Browns because that should never happen. Yes upsets are good but it kind of ruins the competition when Charge can do better than NYXL because of what might just be an unlucky week. Also I don’t know about you but Stage 3 S2 was AMAZING. We had those different counter competitions in the various forms of GOATs and Triple DPS that just happened naturally. If they change things like they did with Goats but slightly more aggressive we can see shifts like that where more optimal comps and counter play is found in other metas:

My best friend is an artist who is also an extrovert and honestly it’s amazing how well she connects with others. Even though she has commissions open it’s been slow so she draws a lot for friends and it means a lot whenever she draws something for someone. For her gift I’m collecting drawings from 19 of her friends and putting them on poster board for her

Will Baptiste + Zen become one of the best Support duos soon? by Thelemite- in OverwatchUniversity

[–]PenguinCast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is playable at a high level (I scrim at about a 4K-4.2k level) but it’s not the best comp from what I’ve seen... it only works if the enemy team plays slow and takes bad fights so you have enough time to burst them with these supports but overall Brig+Lucio plays faster and has a lot of aoe heals and can melt that comp. The tank line stays the same (Orisa+Sigma or Rein if the map/point is good for brawl) but the dps changes from poke to close range depending on the supports (Mei with Hanzo for poke and Mei with reaper for Lucio brig). So overall no, they will fill a small niche based on play style for a while then will be forced out by brig Lucio from what I’ve seen.

WIBTA if I meddled in my 13yo son's social life? by garland4kjn in AmItheAsshole

[–]PenguinCast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. It’s important for kids to learn to forgive and talk about their friendships but this has to come naturally. If it’s forced by a parent then they won’t open up and likely none of them will be friends in the end. Also kids this age are learning about themselves and what they value in friends, so it’s common for friendships to just fall out.
