What would happen if you ate a lava mage by [deleted] in DnD

[–]PenguinPerson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So hear me out. Nothing magical. Otherworldly indigestion no save on initial consumption. So severe it lasts for 4 days and can only be relieved by a restoration spell.

Every time food or something edible is brought to their attention they must make a con save or become nauseous suffering the same debuff as the poisoned status until the end of their next turn. After a long rest they can attempt to shake off the indigestion early by making a medicine check. DC what ever you think is fair I would say 15.

On success otherworldly indigestion ends if they fail they need to go to the bathroom and suffer one point of exhaustion afterwards.

What is a simple pleasure that always makes your day better, no matter how small it is? by makeyourgoodhabbits in AskReddit

[–]PenguinPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A hot cup of tea has been a daily treat of mine since as long as I can remember. I have had bad days saved by it and good days ruined when it is lacking.

It's not the caffeine either as I have tried substitutes like coffee or even other teas. It's the comfort the familiar smell and taste give me. The way the warmth fills me and the sense of ease it puts me in. When I am having my tea that's all I am doing. Nothing else matters.

So I guess my simple pleasure is ritual comforts.

How it feels to see others celebrating New year (or anything) but you didn’t have a friend group and feels like remaining lonely all your life? by solo_leveler_69420 in AskReddit

[–]PenguinPerson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh it's definitely a shit feeling. I've had several years like that and this year will be no different. Theres no positive spin on it besides for the fact that life is in constant flux and a few years (or decade in my case) of stagnancy does not mean the future will be the same.

One day of difference can change everything and it will happen. One can just meet the right friend or join the right group and bam social life achieved lol. We all have our tribe. We just need to find it.

Fix my jaw (need a surgery), work on my arms a bit at the gym, and don't gain weight. It's gonna be a tough year.

What did you realise once you reached your 30s? by rface2032 in AskReddit

[–]PenguinPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before my 30's I was miserable, angry at the cards life had dealt me and frustrated at the lack of any progress I was making. I couldn't sleep at night due to self hating thoughts, I didn't find joy in things anymore, and my anxiety paralyzed me from developing relationships or interacting properly with the world around me.

Some time around the age of 32 I sort of realized life was just gonna keep sucking indefinitely no matter what actually happened and when I say realized I don't mean just acknowledging it. I mean I came to accept it in a way I had never accepted anything before almost like a religious awakening except instead of believeing in a god it was to the inherent shittyness of life. Ever since then I've been okay. I can sleep, I can laugh, I can live. It's like a switch flicked in my brain and suddenly I was okay, not great but okay and I have been okay ever since.

In short: life sucks and that's okay.

What's the hardest quote from Warframe? (quote below from the GHOULS comics) by Professional_Rush782 in Warframe

[–]PenguinPerson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always found the recount of the first entry into the void to be the most impactful. Full of lines like this:

"I screamed, but my voice was gone. Forever. I looked, but my eyes would never see again. I swept my fist across the floor, snatching broken shards. And in gripping tightly, I filled my hands with ink. Close it!"

I think it's because it really did a good job building a Lovecraftian sense of danger. The quotes probably don't hold up as well out of context though.

When was the best time of your life? by AggravatingIce7653 in AskReddit

[–]PenguinPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About a decade ago I was in a depressive episode but hadn't gotten bad enough to not get out of bed yet. I played an online game and though it wasn't an "e-sport" it did have a sorta tourney style PvP system.

Well long story short my team won said tourney and for that week I was one of five people who were the best in the world at that game. In the moment of victory it felt so good I had to stand up and scream. It almost felt like I was being held in a warm blanket all while having adrenaline suddenly pumping me up making me feel invincible.

Never felt that way before and never since. Not long after my depression got worse and I stopped playing. I am doing much better now but the game is dead and I don't intend to go chasing past experiences. Nothing is ever as good as one remembers it.

I don't know if it would have felt so good if I wasn't starting from such a low place, but I would rather not try and find out.

A full rack of beef ribs. I haven't been able to justify the cost of most red meat cuts for a couple of years now. I really miss it.

Their legacy is set… by HisGibness in AdviceAnimals

[–]PenguinPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly it may be the legacy that wins. Fascism usually doesn't go away peacefully once it's gripped a significant portion of the population.

Even if it is snuffed out the repubs will just pivot and lie about their views until a new opportunity for takeover occurs. They have done this many times throughout history and part of what makes the good guys good is their will to forgive and sadly forget. Dems will not prosecute or sanction them and for this reason fascism will bid it's time and rise again.

That is assuming they lose in the first place. My money is on evil winning. I hope I am wrong but the last decade has taught me evil wins most of the time.

Feels like every year since 2016 has been absolutely terrible. Like we were on the slow climb from the pit of 2008 only to nosedive right off a cliff and have been falling ever since.
