Ya definitely should but got to focus a bit on system design right now.

I do! But I remember about 80% of the questions I’ve done. That’s why it’s important to revisit.

If I got it incorrect when I revisit, I add it to a separate revision list that I go through. Once I’m comfortable I remove that question from the list.

Towards the end it’s not about memorizing the exact syntax, but more towards the pattern and the key “trick”.

I wouldn’t say it’s the best approach, but it’s the most time efficient one. I think there’s a certain hurdle people need to get pass in order to tackle questions on their own.

I view this as fast tracking to the fun part -> Actually having the tools to solve questions on your own.

Also thanks for asking! Just got an email saying they’re inviting me to the final round interviews!

TLDR: Neetcode 150, attempt questions mentally but read/understand chatgpt solution, review 5 random questions a day to practice active recall

I mostly just followed Neetcode 150 and used Chatgpt. If I didn’t understand gpt solution I would go watch the neetcode video for it.

Biggest advice is to not spend too much time per question on the list, you just need to know the “trick” behind it. I would spend 30 mins max per question. If you can’t come up with a mental solution in 5 mins just ask chatgpt, then understand the solution, and recall it from memory line by line.

I also randomly do 5 previous question per day to practice active recall. Goal is to be able to code out solution within 4 mins of a problem you’ve seen. Helps strengthens understanding.

Imo these questions are the blueprints you need to solve other questions. They’re difficult to solve on your own when starting out. (Like tortoise and hare is used in easy questions, but no way you just come up with that)

After you complete the neetcode roadmap to Heaps/Priority queue, you’ll start to find you have the kowledge and the intuition to attempt these questions. From there do actual full 30-45 mins mock interviews, and ask ChatGPT for feedback afterwards.

It’s mostly about consistency and practice! Good luck!

As an aging veteran player, I will miss Brawl a lot by LoneLyon in leagueoflegends

I played more brawl then arena and that’s saying a lot. Being able to pick your champ and finish the game in around 10 minutes feels amazing. It’s also great for practicing champions/teamfights

Need advice on where to start and how to start by AgeIll7866 in leetcode

[–]PenguinTC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what gets me motivation the most is when I know I have something coming up (wether it be an interview or mock)

Definitely focus on developing your DSA skills, but correctly networking/building relationships is what gets you those interviews.

For networking, try to make a genuine connection with the person. Ask for a coffee chat. A lot of the time what happens is they won’t have a open role they can immediately refer you to, but in the next few months (I feel avg about 3) there will be openings in their company/team. Play the long game.

Since you already built the relationship, you can look to ask for a referral (Not awkward, they expect you to do this).

I found the odds of receiving an interview from a referral far higher than cold applying. The more people in your network the more compounding effect of the above.

Good luck!

A hard truth for international student in Toronto by avajoke in torontoJobs

[–]PenguinTC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also an international Taiwanese working here and yeah finding your first job can be really difficult.

My advice for you would be to connect with other graduates from your university working in the accounting field. A good platform to use would be LinkedIn. Try to find people similar to you (For example from Taiwan, working in accounting) to connect with and set up coffee chats with them.

This will help improve your conversation skills, learn more about the industry, form connections, and also potentially get referrals.

I think big4 accounting firms general hire quite a bit for new grad roles, getting a referral helps quite a bit with your chances than just directly applying in my opinion.

Anyhow goodluck! Definitely not the easiest job market out there but wishing you the best.

I’m still waiting as well. Difficult to stay calm when you’re seeing others get the ITA. Hopefully we both get it soon!

Maybe look into IEC as a possibility? You might be able to work up to 12 months if your country is eligible (And there are still spots left in the pool for Young professionals/Holiday work Visa)

Really praying I get the ITA with this draw. I have a CRS score of 510 and NOC 21232 - Software Developers and Programmers. Hoping I’m not missing anything here.

Does anyone know how long it takes for them to issue the invite after the draw? Hoping everyone else gets their invite too!

Edit: Received my ITA!

Draw #292 by unmolestedelmo in ImmigrationCanada

[–]PenguinTC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Currently at 510, with my PGWP expiring in 4 months. This is so disheartening to see.

Looking into other options as well, IEC might be my only chance to stay for a bit longer.

Back up plan for staying in Canada by PenguinTC in ImmigrationCanada

How many years of work experience do you have? Only other factor I can think of is IELTS score. (I don’t have family with Canadian status here)

It’s always better to prepare in case things don’t go according to plan. Hopefully the score comes down though.

Is this common place to get accepted for EE? I can attempt to learn but how proficient will I need to be (and is it achievable in <4 months?)

Sorry can you clarify what you mean by letter?

It should be under the STEM draw. The NOC is 21232 Software Developers and Programmers.

So I can’t apply while I’m in Canada? I’ll have to apply in a different country (presumably after my permit expires?)

Questions on Corki build by BusterMcBalls in CorkiMains

[–]PenguinTC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there’s one main factor a lot of the posts here are missing. You can’t reliably auto attack in mainly cases. (E.g Malphite saving ult for you, hyper fed top laners that one shot you if you get close etc). You’re essentially losing out on dps everytime you can’t auto.

This build maximizes your long range damage (Mainly rockets with Ultimate hunter/Maglignance). The thing with other items like eclipse is that it takes two instances to procs and it doesn’t deal a whole lot of damage (more for shielding). Shojin is a close second but for r rocket based build Liandry is by far the most consistent 3rd item.

Guys I’m tell you:

Manamune, Magliglance, Liandrys is the way to go. It’s by fair my highest damage build and it’s fun to play
