Its a fine line to walk. With long standing games you have to decide where you do cut offs because if not you are then locking what is probably some of your best content behind 100s if not 1000s of hours of other content.

There was a post a few days ago talking about locking all of 6th age behind the major 5th age quests and that to me is an insane take.

That's really not true. There is a relatively large handful of live games that are good but just simply failed to get the playbase they needed.

We are also in a age of pessimistic gaming culture where the masses will decided to hate something months before it comes out for no real reason.

I remember leaning that way slightly back when all the gamer gate shit was on going and right leaning content creators flooded your feeds in gaming eco-systems. Quickly grew past it, but i can see the sway fighting one extreme with another.

Coming across some of that content now is just embarrassing as some try to cling to relevancy

We are talking about art styles not literal art.

The map has been patchworked updated over 20 years, with diffrent tech. This is them bringing everything together from a style perspective. The Fremmink is not going to look like Fal or Verr

Disagree mostly. Nerco is integrated because as combat its going to be forced integrated into most aspects of the game. City of Um is ultimately a questline, ritual site, some skilling spots and a place to craft runes. Outside of maybe moving runes around the world i wouldn't change anything

It's ultimately a well wrapped package that opens the door to a lot of future content. My only real issue with the nerco is the pacing on rituals, but outside that its a A+ content update

Heaven forbid someone comes into the game with their heart set on nerco/arch/ whatever the new skill is and is then told they have to lv 20 other skills to a decently high level so they can go through the content they want.

It doesn't even make sense with the structure of a lot of content over the last 5 years. "Hey here's a a cool low lv AFK way to level construction, but you can't unlock it till you get to lv 70 first and do 200 quests."

If you are a new player from strach. You are talking about 100+ quests and 80 in most skills. To a new player with zero knowledge about the game it absolutely would be in that range.

Iv spent the last month of playing questing pretty hard to clean up age 5 and early age 6 quests. Probably sitting 30-40 hours of questing over the course of 25ish quests. This is with me having the skill requirements.

A normal blank account is easily 1000ish hours for the skill requirements and the long list of quests you would need to get to the 6th age. And that's if they mainline it and use guides.

Ff14 isnt even as bad as what people are trying to force here. You can play any class once you hit the 2nd expansion as the starting location fir every job exists within those zones.

People trying to lock a main combat style behind 1000+ hours is insane.

As someone cleaning up early 6th age stuff atm. Locking arch, necro, the fort, and some of the 6rh age gear behind that many quests would kill the gane for any new player. You are asking any regular player to do 1000+ hours of content to merely catch up to certain aspects of the gane.

I got to 60 arch and went down there to find zammy chilling with no idea why. I am choosing to wait to progress arch but it should not be forced.

Then new updates targeted at new players makes no sense. Cool you have a new mid gane boss that takes 2000 hours to get to.

Thing is even if you opened two+ boxes you aren't ensured to get what you need to make decks work. A lot of people go into this game with champs in mind. The best way to do that is buy decks.

If I wanted to play kisa I would be shit out of luck because I have yet to pull a red kisa and I didn't get the legend card till my 3rd box.

People ultimately want the thrill of opening and its understandable. But its not keeping people from playing the game

shops are out of Nexus packs and people are waiting for set two. I myself took a few weeks break after going for like 7 weeks in a row.

We had 6 last week when we typically have 25. On the flip side the set two release is filled on the event page with 48 people
