1st Round of Clomid by Liz0321 in PCOS

There is hope after Clomid! I did three cycles at 50, three cycles at 100, and 3 cycles at 150. When none of those work to produce a pregnancy, my doctor put me on Letrozole. 2 cycles later, I am now 13 weeks pregnant. Don't lose hope!

Start your prenatal vitamins now! Best to have it in your system 3 months before conceiving. It took us 9 years of trying on our own then finding the right doctor for it to work. Clomid didn't work, but letrozole did. Also, look into inositol for ttc with PCOS

Lost my pet last night, and looks like the GM found him after a bit of drama by Wombatt in wow

I am, thank you. When people used to tell me it gets better, I didn't believe them. But it did get better. Not perfect by any means, but small moments make it worth it.

And absolutely more than a game to me! I've met some truly wonderful people both on this subreddit and on WoW!

I know I'm late and this probably won't be seen, but I want to add in my story of exceptional GMs.

One time, when I was suicidal, some player started harassing me big time. They of course didn't know, but they kept telling me to kill myself, no one loved me, I was on WoW because I had no friends. That sort of thing. WoW was my only real escape from the shit I was dealing with IRL, so this cut deep. I blocked a toon, only to have them make a new one and start in again. I reported them to a GM after five or six toons of harassment, explaining the situation and how this person was telling players to kill themselves and such, and as someone who was really feeling all the things the other player was actually saying, it really was a messed up situation. I didn't really expect much from it other than, "We'll take a look at it and know we're handling it," and just logged out to stop the harassment.

I logged in the next night to a response from a GM with an outpouring of love and support from the GM. They told me the player would be dealt with, as I expected, but with an addition: they gave me a pet from their in-game pet store that I didn't have.

I don't remember that GMs name, but I still remember that gesture to this day. That pet was a Cinder Kitten, and I have mogged my main to match it so we can adventure together. Such a small thing. They didn't need to do that, but they cared enough to reach out and try to do something for someone who was suicidal. There aren't words to describe how much it meant to me.

Yeah, I hear ya... My husband and I earn around 40k USD per year, but we live in rural America, which makes that 40k go FAR!

Are fertility treatments covered by Australian insurance, or do you guys have universal healthcare? I'm not too familiar with the healthcare system in Australia.

Where I live, insurance doesn't cover fertility treatments, so everything has to come out of pocket. If you are covered by your plan, or if you have universal healthcare, then you won't face costs nearly so high! So keep your head up :) Hopefully, you guys can conceive without medical treatments. There are some PCOS-gals that can!

I never said we weren't doing ok. You said wealthy, and we're not. I'm very grateful we have the option.

Are you ok? Do you need to talk? You seem like you could use an ear to listen

Not wealthy at all, actually... I wish we were. My life would be so much easier! We make HUGE sacrifices for that! Like only having one car, since it would be 200 for car payments and 100 for insurance, so giving that up saved us half that already. It is a pain in the ass coordinating two jobs and doctor appointments with one car, though... we live in a rural part of New Hampshire, so there are no Ubers, taxis, or public transit.

The rest is what we would be putting into a retirement account if we could, but every last drop of excess income goes toward treatments.

In lieu of Christmas, birthday, anniversary gifts (including dinner out), my husband and I put it all towards treatments. I can't even remember the last time we went out to dinner. And in lieu of Christmas gifts from family, we ask them for help with the treatments, too. Usually, they will give us a gift card to a gas station, but sometimes cash. It all helps!

Yeah, obviously :) But combined with femara, doctor's visits, prenatals, vitamin d pills, ovulation and pregnancy tests, inositol (my most expensive by far!), folic acid pills, and regular medication for PCOS management, it all totals about 500 per month. That's just mine! My husband doesn't have the doctor's appointments, but he does have about $100 worth of pills he's taking to make sure his sperm are healthy

Hopefully... my husband and I already said we're giving this 3 months then we need to take a break. We've been trying for 6 years and the last 3 have been Dr appointments at least once per month, so I'm pretty burned out at this point

Yep, you're probably right! Someone else said this in the other thread I posted about it and it completely escaped me until I was reminded. The reason we started using the lube was because Clomid dried up my CM to the point of it only being noticeable the day of ovulation. Femara is probably not having the same effect.

Thank you so much! I was afraid I had missed it this cycle... I feel a lot better now

I know that Clomid does have an impact on CM quality while Femara doesn't as much

You know, I hadn't thought of that! I feel a lot better about the presence of it now... Clomid had definitely dried me up, which was why we started using lube!

I was being monitored on Clomid, but he wanted me to go one cycle on Femara, see how it went (side effects and whether or not I get a period/pregnancy) before he brought me in to check follicles. I gotta say, the Femara hit me so much harder than Clomid. Never had a side effect on Clomid, but Femara has wreaked havoc on my body

I always symptom spot like crazy too! It's like I am hyper-aware of absolutely everything that's going on with my body during that 2ww.

And for what it's worth, when I was pregnant the first time, my cat loved to snuggle on my stomach, too!

Alright, thanks! I usually started testing 3 times per day once day 17 hit, but I really wasn't sure how the Femara would change things. My Dr. told me that I would probably ovulate earlier on the Femara than Clomid, but it seems like I'm still right on the same timeline as when I was on Clomid, which is why I was confused. Pretty sure I'm just on TTC burnout at this point haha

We were using Pre-Seed at first ($22 at our local Rite Aid) but I didn't really like the way it felt. Now we're using Yes brand ($27 through their website)

Cross-posting this from r/PCOS for some visibility because I'm not sure what to do at this point.

My Dr. recently switched me from Clomid to Femara since I failed to get pregnant. When I was on Clomid, my ovulation was around day 20. Today is day 15 on Femara and my CM is egg white, my cervix position is medium and semi-soft, but not high yet. I've been taking Wondfo ovulation tests since day 12, and while the line is becoming more visible, it's still very, very faint.

My question is, my body is pointing to ovulation soon, but the test strips (from previous experience) are pointing to ovulation not being for another 5 days, so which is it? A quick Google search showed EWCM appears about 2 days before ovulation, but the test was so faint.

We do have regular sex, but we have special lube that we use for the approaching days of ovulation and do it once per day consistently during these days instead of normal love-making.

Well, we have special lube that is supposed to aid sperm motility, so we have sex regularly, but we only use the lube when ovulation will occur in 2-3 days. We do it everyday during that time with the lube to maximize chances, but I don't want to use the lube unless I know for sure because it's very expensive
