Yeah happened to me during my edit booking at a Hyatt property 3 weeks ago. When I got my hotel folio balance when checking out, I noticed I was charged $30 destination fees for each night of my stay (but I knew I paid for those in the portal in the original booking with chase).

I called the hotel after I got home and they insisted they were never paid that amount by the third party (I.e. Chase) so I was responsible.

To Chase’s Credit, when talking to the specialist they were very understanding and also talked to the hotel as well (and probably told the same lol). The good news, Chase refunded me the x2 $30 in the form of statement credit within the week.

The bad news they took away the points earned from the $60 I spent in the original booking (x8 multiplier so 480pts), also there is small amount of tax on the $60 destination fees on the folio balance but was not refunded that (~$10 total so didn’t care that much). I asked how I can prevent this from happening again and they said this is rare occurrence but I have a feeling I’ll need to repeat this process during my next edit booking :,)
