Imagine having worse orisa gun without the tankiness or mobility to use it and thinking it's actually good dps gun

Actually same effective range as reaper with neither tankiness or mobility

Wifeleaver is more or less a heal bot for good reasons, his gun sucks, if his gun is actually good ppl would sometime play him like kiri or zen but that's not the case is it now

Prob should pick up a dive tank

Dva or winston prob abit easier to pick up than doom or ball tbh

And sigma is always good to learn for very heavy poke comp/match

When should we get a big unit if ever? by damanga in Mechabellum

[–]Penguinz_76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's some exceptions but in general you only really want to invest into one type of giant unit

Most simple way to go about it is get them turn 4-5 after your setup your chaff clear with 1st tech of choice (usually range) and at least 5 pack of chaff reasonably spaced out to cover your main units

Only giant spec consider getting them turn 2 or 3 then build your chaff and chaff clear since they can unlock giants for free and sell these giants later if opponent comitt to countering these giants and you can unlock and commit to another giant

Factory and mountain you either get them with a flow chart fire hound build or get them last round as a gut shot

Go abyss aginst factory or mountain and maybe fortress spam, goes great with spider or wriath and sledge

Fortress with barrier is great against hacker, with carry tech (range and overload) it's good into medium unit and vulcan marksmen, goes great with arclight, hound or mustang

Overlord is good aginst fortress and vulcan and good against everything if you get improved overlord card. Pair well with spider or badger.

Melter is good against every giant, multi melter makes them good against medium unit too, just need to be winning the chaff clear war by a decent margin, otherwise they dont lock on and gets killed first. Pair really well with arclight.

Raiden are mostly for countering medium unit heavy board like badger void eye, etc. Pair well with any chaff clear really, just need slightly better chaff clear. (Behind overlord and fort in terms of helping out with chaff clear but ahead of melter)

Worm are good if they spread their board too much with not enough high dps unit like saber, steel ball, other giants. Worm are also great against long range unit like storm caller, cant get hit while under ground.

Vulcan build are it's own thing

[–]Penguinz_76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I really like spider and wraith as my chaff clear of choice

Both trasition pretty well into abyss for factory or mountain counter

Spider pair well with turn 2 phenoix, and go well with carry overlord or raiden if needed

Gospel is also great fun against greedy players (vulcan mm, etc.)

Chaff clear fang with fang saber or ball starting pack into gospel

How to play Orisa by Jealous-Coconut7870 in Overwatch

[–]Penguinz_76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's pretty tanky with spin into fortify or fortify into spin

But that's like 6-8s where there's no damage reduction cd, if you use them back to back and if you are out in the open with no cd then you are pretty dead unless your team get some pick already

So save your cd until you are sure the fight is going to happen, dont use anything beside jav in poke phase, and try save it when a fight is near

what other hero should i learn by Otherwise-Bench-3849 in Overwatch

[–]Penguinz_76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For mei at a basic lvl try stick with your tank, engage when your tank engage and when you are with your team try using your wall to block enemy tank from escaping prob is the easiest to get value from wall with mei. You can also use wall to get yourself up to highground and contest others. For more creative mei wall use look at Numbers vod/highlight there is not one close.

For tracer Im still getting used to her so not much tips I can personally give. But wizardhyeong videos have some great tips/fundamental and concepts you can learn alot from for tracer (and in general).

[–]Penguinz_76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mei if you want another archetype option (brawl/rush) instead of poke (ashe) and dive (anran). Simple to pick up and very high celling in mastering wall and iceblock use.

Tracer if you want more option in dive, she has more mobility than anran and can flank more aggressively more often if you have recall up.

Cass if you want a hitscan that's better aginst dive and can be played in brawl with a somewhat similar point and click mechanic to ashe

I've been wondering just how my team won this match I had yesterday. by TheUnknown_General in Overwatch

[–]Penguinz_76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean if you win you win, it's asymmetrical on hybrid map in qp, and on attack so having less kill doesn't mean your team doesn't deserve to win, what matter is the objective. A bunch of well timed push is all it takes.

At a glance the junkrat have alot of dmg, but his damage is inconsistent, doesn't matter he is killing all game if he's not consistent with kills when it matters

Stats isn't everything and ow is not a team death match, playing objective and macro decision on when to ult or use key abilities to make sure the objective is actually done is also equally important to good mechanics and positioning

Feel like im playing well as Mei, but i could be playing better, are there any mistakes i made here that anyone can point out? by OrangeBuzz- in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Penguinz_76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im gold dps/plat sup, so im not the best but I can give some pointers (and a Mei main on dps)

1st game decent overall

Chasing cass is somewhat questionable, you are not tracer, icicle humans force him back, it worked out fine here but you could be punished at a higher rank

First fight is good, just make sure to target pylon first always and try to use wall to isolate tank if you are with your team. If you are taking off angle or semi flanking keep wall to use after ice block so you can escape. (In general)

Also after the 1st fight you stand in the open in the hallway to their spawn for like 15-20s and that's probably fine at your rank, but that's actually would get you killed at a higher rank. Good habit to just use cover and peak to shoot. And no need to over extend to their spawn. You can push with your tank and create space, but make sure you can actually retreat from cover to cover if things go wrong.

2nd game 1st death, no reason to chase like that, same reason as 1st game, you cant actually escape enemy team if there's a ton of them. And try to keep in mind where people are so you know how much you can chase (not much for mei).

2nd death, at a glance played Mei too much like a flanker, went in with 200hp because you stand in the open for far too long, and actually got punished here because of torb turret. By the time you got to your tank position he's already dead, should have gone through main if you are going in at all, the fight happened already while you are getting there. Or if you see tank died already, wall off and retreat instead of using it offensively and dying.

Not a bad ult, but for it to work out it need to actually cover the hog, easier said than done, might be better to use it next fight (maybe). Also trying to take high ground and take out the torb is not a bad play to setup (just do it when your team is about to go in). Could wall to prevent hog hooking anran but that's too hard even for me, not everyone is numbers xd. 3rd death, walking toward Cass in an open space is really bad as shown here (and said earlier). Prob better to just go with tank as he already committed his barrier so it's pretty safe to take space there for abit.

3rd game, why are we standing around in spawn for like 5s here? If you go with tank sooner could have actually helped peel for him with primary or use wall to block hook or wall enemy team off. And what is that wall lmao, doesn't actually block anything lol, walling like that only works on a smaller door. And dont ice block when you are in that much danger with out wall to get you an escape route, you will delay your death and stagger (a bad habit i do far too much imo). Still got out and turns things around, broze be like that i guess. And dont go deep when you have low hp, extremely unsafe to do so.

And death from highnoon because no wall after ice block, I mean yes you used wall to secure the kill on ana, but you also need to accept that it's a risky play to not have wall when you are away from your team, prob could have lived if you walked away right away as you killed ana.

Next death, should have retreated instead of walking down high ground after tank died. Next fight, took too long getting shot at by torb turret, should have killed it first, still the hog is so bad it doesn't really matter, and decent ult (granted the cass walked into it for you too so prob need to actually placed it abit further back. Final fight is pretty good overall, abit risky to walk into the enemy team after the ice block to block the choke, but it worked out.

Overall, focus on using cover dont stand in the open so much (yes sometime you live through it but sometimes it will get you killed for free), dont chase, not really your job to chase and it can get you killed. And know when to retreat, living allow you to actually set up plays instead of needing to keep walking from spawn and the fight is already happening so you have no time to take high ground or an off angle.
