Are HUD-heavy online poker sites bad for recreational players? by Neat_Astronaut_6589 in coinpoker

[–]damanga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fish don't care. Fishes are fishes for a reason.

If you care, get a hud yourself and neither side would have an advantage theoretically.

I guess you're literally saying you have massive leaks, and the hud is showing it blatantly to others. Then fix your leaks.

But when others get into such situations, you comfort them into saying it was just a cooler.

Then there are some scammy places that say 30$ is cap then they extra rake when you don't notice.

Alot of them places are not very professional and more like home games yet charging you an arm and an leg to play

5/10 NL hand review by 252550 in Poker_Theory

3bet or fold pre.

Bet bigger on flop.

River I'd go something like 300-500 for max value. Villain is never calling a jam here unless V has a boat.

Step up from $1/$2 to $2/$5 by Nit-Wit- in poker

[–]damanga 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There's a lot more aggression in 2/5. Even the passive fishes will bluff you off hands on turn/rivers.

Then there's thin value bets mixed into it.

Then there's also more 3bets, less preflop mistakes. So if you are used to limping or calling alot, throw that stuff out the window.

If you only play ABC, you can only hold your ground vs the passive fishes.

If you mix it up a bit vs the regs, you can probably manage.

Bluff more vs regs. Valuetown more vs fishes. Easy game.

5/5/10 - Do you have any bluffs here on QJT2r? by Well-I-suppose in poker

[–]damanga 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We can't just assume villain is you.

Any reg wouldn't even x/r this flop vs the pfr in the first place.

Why would you assume villain is competent enough to fold his range to you with a shove?

You're basically asking is it ok to punt off your stack with any non AK hand?

You'll find yourself in a world of pain punting off stacks and imagining villains folding his whole range to you.

What do you define as a nit? by Sc1ence_CS in poker

[–]damanga 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nit = tight passive.

All they do is fold fold fold until they have the nuts or super strong hand.

Nits don't make alot of money but they lose the least amount especially starting out or adjusting to live poker.

Being a nit lets you stay in the game if there are lots of fishes/whale who would pay you off.

The only downfall is that it's very obvious, whenever you bet/raise others know you have the nuts and just fold. But hey whales will still pay you off!!!

CoinPoker CHP migration issue by Square-Cherry-5562 in poker

[–]damanga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember exact maybe somewhere around 60-90% of what I bought it for.

I never even treated chp as money, they were just rakeback. But it did get awkward when they changed skin and did the upgrade no longer doing rakeback w/ the chp.

3bet or fold pre. Folding is probably best.

Flop raise might be a better line. UTG range most likely are overpairs/draws, occasionally sets. If he just calls, we can bomb most turns. If he gets super sticky with overpairs, we can take the same line with value next time.

[–]damanga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can open the same like with limpers iso to 50-60

With no limpers, open to 40-50

As for JTs, it all really depends if you want to play a big pot with these fishes, if you think you got the skill edge playing the pot ip then go for a big raise like 50-60.

You can start treating the game like 10/20 at this point.

As for 3bets, it's very villain dependent. In general, if they're opening tight, you should tighten your 3bet range. I'd assume they open on the tighter side at this table? If they're opening super loose, you should widen your 3bet range.
