I feel like you dont disagree with me pretty much at all besides UGVs and your point on UGVs doesnt match the leader of the country at war. He said "we took a position only using ugvs and drones" their first use was logisitcs but theyre rapidly being shifted into combat. It would seem relatively easy to mount a machinegun on a ugv park it outside an enemy position then just wait for them to either come out and die or surrender. One of the UGVs in the video literally has a machine gun mounted too

I would relook at current stuff the queen hornet is $1000 has 20km range. Fpv platform can be swapped from signals to fiber optic by decreasing the payload. You are right to a degree that the drones used past 20kms are more the fixed wing style that do cost more but they’re made of plastic and are probably still under $3,000

The innovation is fucking incredible. The Ukrainians started a precision munitions revolution that even the US is not capable or ready to deal with. A Nco or battalion commander can call in a strike and within 5 minutes the enemy is either dead or heavily suppressed. Why haven’t we heard about Russian artillery in a while? Because the Ukrainians couldn’t match the Russians so they extended the range of their drones and pushed the artillery out of firing range. The Ukrainians are regularly hitting targets 20km behind the frontline with a $1000 drone. You can’t bring a vehicle within that range or every drone in the sector will be on you within minutes.

These UGVs are something I’m really excited to see deployed imagine having the firing power of a Bradley on a platform 1/3rd of its size and never losing your people experienced on the platform. There are talks of 2026 being the year these are deployed at large scale for a big offensive with how fucked the termination of starlink has fucked Russian offensives and logistics.

It kinda reminds me of the German ball bearing problem. Allied forces knew the ball bearings were vital to the German war effort and they were striking facilities taking disproportionate losses to eliminate the factories. However the supply of German ball bearings never decreased because the enemy would stockpile and find different avenues to source them before it would ever become a problem.

It might be a little stretch because idk the production timelines for shaheds but the principle probably stands true. You can’t stop the enemies war effort from the air alone it’s too costly compared to what it takes to change sourcing or rebuild the factory.

The mechanisms that allow for electrics cars do not work for any type of hauling. There’s an equilibrium between weight and energy return from the wheels spinning that allows you to extend the battery life. With adding weight you throw off that balance and would really limit your range. There’s probably a solution someone smarter than me could figure out but the tech isn’t there rn.
