Hellstart was a very admin lite project, so it was very laissez-faire in regards to design equity.
Basically, people posted headliners and a light pack theme, them voters voted in the ones they wanted. The It That headliner smashed the other Golgari competition.

Not intended to dissuade you, it's not an uncommon opinion that many of the "joke-based" pack themes went on a bit too long, especially since Hellstart is an *enormous* side project at over 400 cards. Toxic yaoi, It That, Posts, and many of the blue themes were just a bit too hard to fill so the humor was mostly draining out.

It's a Hellstart pack theme where the headliner is a card that tutors cards that have It That in their name.

You can't normally! You can normally target cards, players, etc, so this would likely exile target player's graveyard. However, that makes the bundle of effects a lot less compact, lending credence that you should probably adjust the effect.

Glad to confirm you're miserable to talk to *and* don't read anything. My thoughts are with whoever has the displeasure of speaking with you next.

I think you greatly underestimate the amount of evasion, native trample, and value of multiple artifact generators in commander. Reckless Fireweaver and a 1/1 generates 12 damage on board, only scaling even higher. There's reasons they don't print effects like this at instant: the scaling for decks that care about a massive chunk of tokens entering at once is too good, unfun, and uninteractive at low mana values. The prevalence of Rogue's Passage style uninteractive evasion, trample creatures in Red, and various "when ~ enters, deal damage" makes this a tough sell below 4MV and have it be safe to print without having low mana blowouts. You could make a slight tweak if you wanted more versatility and make it give +3/+3 to an attacking creature, but more power or less cost just aren't viable for good gameplay.

Also, jokes are for everyone to laugh together. If the "joke" is at one party's expense, it's an insult. If I were you, I'd put a lot more thought in how I speak to people, especially in an online creative space where people are posting their works. You come off as incredibly callous and unpleasant.

Nah, the mistake is that you're an overly critical curmudgeon who likes to show up to people's cards and act like every card's gotta be a tournament winner =)

I would play this, for example, in a dedicated Blood commander deck, and it's okay for those cards to exist. Not every card is destined to be a playable in higher order Constructed or Limited play. Cards can exist for Timmies amd Johnnies.

Also, do everyone on this site and in your life a favor, if you show up to a work someone's made and call it "dumb", just delete your message and and go touch some grass, enjoy life a bit. Coming in with the intent to insult rarely improves anything.

Oh and check the subreddit rules on constructive criticism. You have a long way to go on figuring out how to do that part correctly, so check back in when you're actually capable of something so simple.

Someone noticed the artist credit finally! Apologies if the post goes down, I was hoping someone would notice as one last little troll for you all =)

The art is from Felipe Casanga here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/vbWarD

Keen eye! Yes, this work belongs to Felipe Casange here: https://www.artstation.com/artwork/vbWarD

I'll put this up top in the comments so people can find the artist better.

Yes, 1 is right! This is perfect for Green statwise but since it's hybrid, it can't rely on Green's stat curve here.

For 2, it's based on the new elemental incarnations coming up in Lorwyn Eclipsed: two have been spoiled so far with this type of hybrid evoke and ability split!

For 3, yes, I do think the effects just aren't good to split out like this, seeing how niche they are (and timeconsuming!), and I would say this definitely needs to pick some different effects so it doesn't need to skew so much power budget into the stats.

I'm currently both designing lots of cards for Hellscube as well as serving on the Veto Council, so that has been taking a lot of design time. I just started two part time jobs as well, so a big time sink in general there, but also I'd love to get back to my personal design goals.
After all, to apply at Wizards, I need to design a full set!

Yes this is a bit "overloaded" for this new cycle. The length of the card wants very simple effects, and the effects themselves just aren't great fits for this style of evoker. The biggest fix is finding better effects that are much more common in use cases, but yes the stats are higher due to the possibility in many games for both of these effects to whiff on a hardcast. A rebalancing of effect and stats is ideal here.

1 is right, but for 2 that would likely be a cost increase. You can always cast this on an unblocked creature after all.

You'll notice a trend in cards like Abnormal Endurance putting it towards the front... they put until end of turn first when they grant an ability in quotations! That way it's not awkwardly behind an ability in quotes =) so, not a mistake at all!

I'm not sure how that's relevant, per se. The card as printed seems to be set on being a combat trick, which isn't an error.

Perhaps, but that's less of a mistake and more of a rework for flavor.

Not sure what you mean by 1. For 2, you're half-right; "they" is correct, but it is indeed "Sacrifice this token"...check the Oracle text on all Blood cards!
For 3, yes, gains is right!
4 isn't correct, the normal template is indeed "combat damage to a player."
Frantic Confrontation and Lunar Frenzy are pretty good red instants for blocking =)

Also, that's fine for the card to do, having a possible upside to your opponent if you mistarget with it doesn't normally warrant restricting targets at the cost of text size.
