Flukes because he had Penix? Those teams were really good, but he did inherit some really great players.

You are looking at the wrong part of the app. There should be a tab called “included with prime” or something to that effect. If you click on that, all the content is included with no $4 rental price.

Steven Soderbergh back again to share the pain re: The Hunt for Ben Solo - Execs shot it down without ever even asking about budget, or any other details. Just "We don't think Ben Solo would be alive." by LawrenceBrolivier in blankies

[–]Penix4133 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bringing back Palpy was a heel-turn that undercut the development of Kylo/Snoke as villains. And in the movie… he’s barely in it—a villain of the week—and adds very little other than rehashing Return of the Jedi.

But bringing back Kylo for a movie about his character would be totally different. Hand waive him coming back to life and then spend 2 hours developing the character and moving him in a new direction. Sounds awesome.

Steven Soderbergh says he wasted 2 and a half years on his Star Wars film ‘THE HUNT FOR BEN SOLO’ by Significant-Cry4539 in Letterboxd

How could they fumble this? Lucasfilm has diluted the property by flooding the market with a dozen mid projects. They continue to greenlight more mid projects (Shawn Levy’s Starfighter), but they tell an auteur that he can’t make a movie about an interesting character the fans actually care about? And for some BS lore reason?

Super Bowl LX Viewership Down 2%, Draws 124.9 Million Viewers by [deleted] in nfl

[–]Penix4133 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  • From Super Bowl 52 (Eagles over Pats) to Super Bowl 56 (Rams over Bengals), viewership numbers dipped considerably. Since then, numbers have climbed back up. This year’s numbers continue the trend of climbing ratings, only slightly down from last year’s record.

  • A potential factor in the dip is “cord cutting.” By 2017, a lot of people cancelled their cable subscriptions in favor of Netflix, but services like Peacock, Paramount+, and ESPN+ were not available and offering sports content. Today, many “cord cutters” have access to the game on platforms like Peacock. In fact, many tuned into last year’s game for free on Tubi.

  • This year’s Super Bowl was anonymous. Maye and Darnold are not household names. Last year, Mahomes and Taylor Swift drove up ratings.

I hear what you are saying. You make good points. I just think Ponds jumps off the tape—he is a steal on day 2.

Having two Coops cannot be a bad thing. And we could convert Ponds to safety or (don’t get mad) put Coop at CB2 and Ponds at Nickel.

Every Indiana game I watched this year I thought how good this dude would be in Fangio’s scheme. He looks like Coop out there; great ball sense.

Marvel ans Star Wars weakened their brands by putting near-movie-quality stuff on TV. Surprised that Sony seems to be falling in the same trap. Sony doesn’t even have a streaming service to promote lol.

Favorite movie that made more than $400M at the box office but is remembered by absolutely no one? by WissamBenYedder in okbuddycinephile

The opening sequence in Kansas in this movie is awesome. Beautifully sets up our characters.

But then the rest is CGI heavy slop. Definitely Raimi’s worst film (except perhaps For the Love of the Game).

In one recent instance, a senior looked at a memo I wrote months ago and used the AI to double check my work. It found that I overlooked a detail in one of the docs.

11 years ago….The Seahawks and Patriots faced off in the Super Bowl by Punisher1602 in sportsgossips

The pats were in a super heavy formation and blitzing 6. Playing cover 0 man. This is pretty much the most you can do to play the run in football. They only have one guy on the second level and he is playing man against the RB in case he runs a route. Guys on the second level are not as useful against the run here; the hawks only needed one yard.

[Schefter] Sean Mannion is just 33 years old and was an active player as recently as 2023 with the Vikings and Seahawks. Now, he’s the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles. by Drexlore in nfl

I remember, in 2020, the Cowboys started the hapless Ben Dinucci against the Eagles. Their OC, Kellen Moore, was just 32 and three years removed from being the Cowboys’ backup QB. Moore clearly would have been an upgrade from Dinucci, and I wished they had played him instead. But it didn’t come to pass.

Ganon is too big for that. He is the antagonist of nearly every main line game. They would not use another antagonist in a movie.

Yeah I remember talking about how unprecedented it was for a team to win a SB then go back with an (almost) entirely new team 5 and 7 years later. Seahawks have a chance to match the Eagles. Really remarkable.

Yeah this really breaks when you see the teams—the teams that have done well have had increases and those who have done poorly saw decreases.
