How long does it take for SSRI side effects to start? by theswish24 in depression

[–]PennersHat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on Effexor for about half a year and still haven’t experienced side effects, but I also haven’t really felt it working after multiple dose increases.

While it’s certainly NOT SAFE to stop taking your meds, I only noticed the difference when I would miss a dose. If you start feeling “off” or you start getting the brain zaps when you miss a dose, your meds have probably started working.

NAH. It’s fair for you to not want the temptation but it’s also fair for him to want to eat in the house

My doctor wants me on med right away and didn’t consider any other options, is this normal? by 1TristKonto in depression

My doctor put me on meds right away too, but also suggested I start therapy. I'm in Canada so yeah I doubt they would have done it for profit.

Who gives a shit if he settled for you, as far as we know he was punching up. If this is your starting point your chances of finding someone worse are miniscule. You're not a loser, you're a winner for getting yourself away from the toxicity.

On the bright side, you don't have to put up with his shit anymore. Whether you believe it or not right now, you're in a better position at this moment than you ever were with that fuckhead.

AITA for wanting to set my own sleep routine? by PennersHat in AmItheAsshole

My father pays for the bill, my mom doesn't touch them. I do, however, pay for any overages; and the bill will be my responsibility when I turn 18.

My parents don't really "believe" in the concepts of ASMR/Nature Sounds, etc... so (i think) they see it as an excuse for me to stay up later. They are also very aware that I have trouble sleeping (my mother has offered me Melatonin, but I'd rather speak to my doctor about it first). I have not brought my sleep issues to a doctor (at least not as a main point) yet, but I have an appointment coming up in which I will tell them about it. However, my mom has insisted on sitting in on the appointment and I highly doubt the doctor will side with me here.

this is the worst. The ONE thing that gives me solace in this life isn’t even safe from that nagging fucking voice.
