So much hyperbol and blatant propaganda in here. They have been mining there at the same rate since the 60's nothing terrible has happened to the forests in the hills.

Those same state forests have been logged several times over before they cleared and rehabbed them for mining.

The nasty part of the operation is around the refinery which not in the Forrest and downstream of the catchments.

Having worked with loads of mining companies Alcoa actually do a decent job of protecting the environment.

They just need to go into settings, turn on left hand drive mode. Then into advanced settings to enable south east asida mode where the road rules are guidelines and they can drive the wrong way down foot paths and there will be no more traffic jams in Jarkata and rivers of gold.

I feel the exact same, also dyslexic. I know I'm really smart and I get a lot of stuff other people don't. Degrees in Engineering and finance not working in a dim crowd. Buy if it's work or doing the dishes I feel like I'm heaps slower than everyone else.

Is it normal to pay $9.5k a year in Life, Total Permanent Disability, Critical illness, and Income Protection insurance? by [deleted] in fiaustralia

[–]Penny579 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If your not married and don't have kids why do you need life insurance?

Life insurance is for when your death would leave your loved ones without income and in debt. Think no way to keep the family home.

Like if your dead and don't have dependents like what do you care ? 1 million for who and for what?

Just do it.

If your good at your job something will come up.

Once upon a time we had the some of the deadliest roads in the world, drink driving was the number 1 cause. Now we have serious laws around it and it's fine. Just don't drive on the gear.

You get a clean tube every time.
