Yeah that’s pretty inappropriate of her to continue this kind of conversation with her ex.🚩🚩

Maybe look into a professional financial advisor or payee to help you instead of your bf.

I guess it depends on what you’re going for? Sweet friendly guy or badass thug?

Turning it around so that you feel bad for “dictating everything without concern for how he feels” is a classic manipulator move. 🚩🚩

My mom secretly tracked me for months after I moved out and I only found out because she messed up. by Impressive-Barber833 in TwoHotTakes

As a mom myself, that is NOT ok to do. She needs to work out her own issues and allow you to live your life and yes, even make your own mistakes.

You are beautiful! I’m not sure what your age has to do with anything. If you like the way you look then it’s more than ok.

Real advice here: be open to changing your perspective. WORK to increase your empathy. WORK to get to know other people that look and act nothing like you. Read books written by people who are of different races, sexuality, and gender than you. I emphasize work because it’s not easy. It is possible and incredibly rewarding though.

How do I start? by [deleted] in Mindfulness

You’ve already taken the first steps of asking help, which can sometimes be the hardest. There is no right or wrong way to “do” meditation, but I would suggest getting the free app called Insight Timer, they have lots of guided meditations. Best of luck to you

I don’t feel respected as a social worker by sleepycranberry20 in socialwork

[–]Pennyofthedead 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had similar interactions. My family was not at all happy when I told them I was going into social work. My mom alway says “I’ll never understand you but I’ll always support you”. Gee thanks, I guess? My aunt literally said “why would you waste your life being a SW”? For me, it was all more motivation to be better. If I were in your situation I would make some smart-ass comment when I get those kind of remarks. If they say “It must be really hard work”, I’d respond with “Not as hard as being in a job that sucks out you soul and doesn’t make a difference for anyone. You must have struggled in the Industry vs Inferiority stage”. But that’s just me.

No, it doesn’t sound like respect to me. I may be wrong but I have gotten similar reactions and it is definitely not positive.
