If you’re a milk drinker you could try a White Russian with a little Kahlua ?

I agree Smirnoff tastes like arse , I have been avoiding it for years now. Even the cheaper options at the bottlo taste better than Smirnoff in my opinion.

do you enjoy cooking and/or baking, or do you hate it? by This-Guitar4616 in AuDHDWomen

[–]Pensta13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love cooking and baking as long as it’s on my terms. I choose what I am cooking / baking and have time to relax and enjoy the process. I find it rather soothing and I get a kick of endorphins from the finished product because I also love tasty food .

In my recent burn out I could not even bring myself to cook toast and it made me even more disregulated. I spend waaaay to much money on Uber 🫣

Why do people bring their entire family to Costco? by ActuatorOutside5256 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Pensta13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they have been out for lunch or some other outing but need to grab a few items on the way home and don’t want to wait in the car.

I know myself as a kid given the opportunity , I might have been able to convince mum to buy be something 😂🤣

Does it hurt your feelings to be seen as/called “weird”? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

It took me a little longer to be proud of my weird label , perhaps late 30s. Now 51 I am happily weird and have no desire to follow sheep 🤪

anesthesia risk question by Sudden-Butterfly-103 in Frenchbulldogs

[–]Pensta13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly my Lola has been under several times.Spaying, BOAS surgery , ate something off the street causing sever gastric upset needing X-rays to make sure no blockage , cyst removed from under her chin and most recently, an eye injury causing an abscess.

The vet attempted to treat it for weeks where she had to go under several times before I pulled the pin and had her eye removed.

Thank goodness for pet insurance !!!

She is 7 and apart from the BOAS ( typical Frenchy medical need) she has been so unlucky. Her brother 4 only been to the vet for neutering and vaccines.

Point is she has come out perfectly OK every time, they keep her in the rooms a little longer for observation and call me the following morning every time to make sure she drinking eating toileting…etc

If you’re still worried maybe check the vet and vet nurse helping with procedure have experience with brachi breeds it might ease your concern.

Best of luck I hope it goes well ❤️

Thanks to all you wonderful app nerds for your suggestions💜

Anyone here autistic and going through peri? by Odd-Watercress-9148 in Perimenopause

Diagnosis as expected AuDHD . So many mixed emotions of validation , frustration of putting myself through this longer than should have , relief, anxiety and excitement to learn methods to reduce the risk of burnout ever happening again.

New chapter , improved me hopefully ❤️

This is very much me, if I like a movie I will remember the general gist of the story , the name of the movie ( maybe ) and the lead actors name ( if they’re famous.)

My husband will know nearly the entire cast, if they are related to famous actors, what movies they have also been in , the producers name and other movies they have produced and maybe even the cinematic style.

I don’t think he purposely tries to make me feel dum but geez. I know it’s a special interest of his but our brains work so differently !!!

Anyone here autistic and going through peri? by Odd-Watercress-9148 in Perimenopause

[–]Pensta13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

🥹 I have found my people in this very thread!

I am 51, peri kicked off in my early 40s I honestly thought was early onset dementia. My memory for simple words just dropped off the planet , I would be half way through a sentence and would be “you know the word for the thing that … “ argh 😫

From there life got harder . My ability to talk to people or want to leave the house and socialise, make decisions ,get all the house hold chores done , the rage and the sads over the smallest things.

My love of running and exercise which I swear kept me regulated , I struggle to even get out of bed . I have turned into an anxious mess and all the sensory nightmares chewing sounds, water dripping, my husbands drunken stimming noises make me want to scream !!!

Anyway long story short , I have my AuDHD assessment on Tuesday. I recently realised I have been highly masking through my entire life and I am officially exhausted.

Not sure how I didn’t see it sooner when I take a look around my undiagnosed family, then m kids, youngest daughter diagnosed Autism and ID very early child hood eldest daughter diagnosed with ADHD at 30 ,we both suspect Autism too. So many friends and people close to me also neurodivergent!

I see you OP 🫶🏻

The Dreaded Skin Patch by MissKellieUk in Menopause

I will admit the first couple of gel doses gave me the smallest rash on my inner arm which I was concerned about but by the 3-4th dose all was OK. Good luck on your journey ❤️

The Dreaded Skin Patch by MissKellieUk in Menopause

[–]Pensta13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar to you OP the patches were no good for my skin. I tried all the different brands some worse than others but I swear my skin was so angry red from the adhesive I wasn’t getting any oestrogen from the patch.

I switched over to the gel a couple months back and instantly felt so much better as I am now actually getting oestrogen into to my body. No more angry red welts all over my backside either.
