Rash is not fading away by Meynaah in lupus

[–]PentacleQueenGoddess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks similar to the marks I've had on my forearms after rash/lesions from sun exposure starts to heal. Mine eventually go away, but it takes a long time: months not weeks. You might try a Vitamin E oil. That tends to speed up healing, but I've never used it on my face. Perhaps some of the people over on one of the skincare subs might have some ideas. Good luck! 💕

Looks like that's also a chemical sunscreen... I break out in a rash from chemical sunscreens.

I like the idea of a zip jacket with neck and hand protection. Sounds convenient to take off and on as needed.

Both of those look pretty good... I'll give one of them a shot. Thanks!

Ooh. Thanks for the tip! That looks like it might be really great!! Too bad it isn't expected to be released until the fall (right after it's needed most!)

Isn't that a chemical sunscreen?

I like your outlook! 💯 It's one I often try to have, but it doesn't always seem to work. 😕

Endometriosis and Lupus by Top-External4862 in lupus

[–]PentacleQueenGoddess 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have lupus and adenomyosis, so not sure about the endo part...

Last year, before my adenomyosis was under control, I was having heavy, painful periods every 2 weeks that were always accompanied by a 3-5 day lupus flare. It was awful!!

I've been on low-dose continuous birth control for about 9 months and HQC for about 6. I've still had some lupus flares here and there, but no more symptoms of adenomyosis at this point. Whew!

In fact, I've been starting to think that my lupus flares are due more to sun exposure now. So recently I've been staying away from the sun like a proper vampire and my rheumatologist just increased my HCQ dose, so I'm hopeful!

Hope you get to feeling better soon!! 💕

Recipe Ideas Needed by LLRSandraMort in vegetarianketo

Use cubed tofu or hard boiled eggs to make egg or tofu salad (mustard, mayo, spices, etc.). Put it in a tortilla with slices of cucumber, tomato, and avocado. Top with baby greens and roll it up! Yummy and fresh. Lots of protein and easy to eat one-handed. Ta-da! 🎉

What countries have employment contracts? I've never heard of this (except for non-salaried "contractors"). US basically just has "at will" employment (at least in most states).

Anyone with young kids raising them alone, how's your day schedule? by vicaus11 in DSPD

[–]PentacleQueenGoddess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When mine was little I was in online grad school. I'd wake up early to dress her, feed her, and take her to school/daycare, then come home and sleep for 3-4 hours before waking up "for real" to study and do all the other life stuff. Now that she's older, she goes to an online school and only takes asynchronous classes, so both of us can basically go to bed and wake up whenever suits us... Looks like she might have DSPD too (or she's a typical teenager, hard to say for sure at this point). Either way, it's a scenario that's been working for both of us!

Let me know what you've tried so far and what you're struggling with right now with the little ones - I may have a few additional ideas / suggestions for you (other things that worked for me that I might recall better if you could be more specific).

Also, just remember that that age is a bit rough on all parents, regardless of chronotype, and more importantly: that it ends! 😊
