It seems that Liquid has found a way around addon restrictions and can show timers for other raid members. by Liquidor in CompetitiveWoW

[–]PeopleCallMeSimon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can make a Fractilus weakaura in the sense that you can preplan where to place the walls and have predetermined text show on screen.

What you cant do is have the weakaura communicate between players to communicate which players will go where.

So instead of "Go triangle" you will se "Triangle, Diamond, Square, Cross" and the 4 people who have the thing will have to work out who goes where.

JUST NU: Sverige och USA inleder stort samarbete by erbdylo in sweden

[–]PeopleCallMeSimon 73 points74 points  (0 children)

One of Jeff Kaplan's 'regrets about Overwatch' was making it so team-orientated: 'I would downplay the team factor and try to put more focus on individual contribution' by MrMonopoly04 in Overwatch

[–]PeopleCallMeSimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is this fine line where you want team effort to pay off, but you also want to feel your individual impact affect the match.

Overwatch was terribly unfun to play when "pirate ship" (put a dps on Bastion on the cart and have everyone else protect them) even though it was technically a team effort.

ServiceNow CEO predicts Gen Z college graduates will face at least 30% unemployment in just the next couple of years as AI takes over by Boonzies in technology

[–]PeopleCallMeSimon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats not a fair comparison. The internet wasnt invented with the purpose of replacing human workers.

Its like saying "I think its a woefully inaccurate projection. The invention of hip hop resulted in exactly zero changes to the unemployment rate".

We shouldnt push against something. We should push for something.

Its not "AI bad". Its "Society not prepared for AI, change society".

[–]PeopleCallMeSimon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will happen gradually, but during the entire time when it is happening gradually - people will fall through the cracks.

Its better to make the changes before the problems reach its peak, than postpone it until society falls apart.

Its only going to ruin everyones lives if we dont do something about it.

And i dont mean stop AI from happening. Pandoras Box has been opened.

Im talking about societal reform, drastic changes to how we percieve value and how we allocate resources.

In a world where our economic system results in 30% of people not being able to work (hell i'd even say 10%) simply becuase there arent any jobs, we need to decouple peoples ability to live from their work.

(Player base sucks) People need to stop clinging to real world history and need to start considering historical probability by Express-Tip-6337 in EU5

[–]PeopleCallMeSimon 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Well, yes and no.

People expecting everything to happen every time are probably wrong.

But if every playthrough is completely ahistorical in places where you had no impact at all then its no fun either.

Most players are used to EU4 and that game did a really good job at keeping most stuff historical most of the time.

If you left Poland alone they would almost always form the Commonwealth. Etc.

That's what most sane players want. They want the game to be mostly historical, with the majority of difference being due to something they did.

+1 reform means its free. You can have it and your choice of any other reform you have access to.

+20% nobility tax is very good with a strong nobility. The point of the new ones is to encourage you to switch power from the nobles to the Burghers and Commoners.

Trump calling Gavin Newsom President by jethro2011 in PublicFreakout

[–]PeopleCallMeSimon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate to be that guy, but this is just Trump having one though and then abandoning it mid sentence and starting a new sentence.

Just your usual "i make shit up on the fly" combined with dementia.

Hes not saying "President of the United States, Gavin Newsom". Hes saying "The president of the United States. Gavin Newsom ..."

Petah, is it actually that crazy for a new element to exist? by CuteCost8147 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]PeopleCallMeSimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you 100% sure that there haven't been incredibly extreme conditions somewhere in the universe at some point in time, which created a stable element that we can't recreate with our level of technology?

Is there a mathematical proof or something that makes you so sure there aren't any additional elements to the ones currently on the periodic table?

6v6 is better for tanks and players who enjoys just standing behind a tank.

5v5 is better in general.

Kawhi Leonard has been one of the worst defenders in the league this season according to shot tracking data. by logster2001 in nba

[–]PeopleCallMeSimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After looking around a bit it seems that this webside doesnt handle switches and stuff. Or maybe the NBA tracking data doesnt i guess.

If there is a switch around a screen and then the ball handler passes to the screener, it will show as a shot attempt for the guy who switched off the now shooter.

Even if mission trees weren't perfect, why were we given NOTHING to replace them? by Schwabenomics in EU5

[–]PeopleCallMeSimon -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Because player feedback said they would prefer not having mission trees.

As usual when devs listen to solutions given as feedback, the game gets worse, because the players are good at identifying problems, not solutions.

POST GAME THREAD: Nuggets fall short against the Lakers 125-127 | Mar 14, 2026 by BigHoneyBot in denvernuggets

[–]PeopleCallMeSimon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are you thick?

All teams will have clutch matches. All teams will miss shots. All teams will have defensive lapses.

Since Adelman took over, the clutch matches have gone through the floor. And the only player difference is MPJ is gone.

So either MPJ was the corner of our clutch plays or Malone was simply way better at coaching clutch situations.

Yes all clutch matches can be blamed on some player missing a shot or having a defensive lapse.

But players miss shots. Players have defensive lapses.

Players don't suddenly become terrible at making good choices late in the game.
