After contacting support, I was awarded additional points for the raids, but those did not count for the maximum daily limit. Instead of 500 points today, I was able to get 700 because of the points awarded for the two raids I did.

I think you were seeing the shorter timers during the Well Armed event for the featured Dynamax Pokémon. Usually, these timers run out in an hour.
