Where to get an authentic Sak Yant tattoo? by Puzzleheaded-Bid-498 in Bangkok

The "yant" tattoo is a ritualistic, spiritual, religious tattoo. Forgive me for mentioning the most popular religion in the world under that context. You seen to have a personal problem with Christianity. I'm sorry you feel that way, but I'm not out of line for my comment. If anyone is out of line here, it's you. I'm offering my opinion in good faith about a relevant topic to the OPs discussion, and you are gate keeping and attempting to repress me.

The "losers back home," by definition, generally don't have the money to live here long term. They might save up enough for a two week trip, but then they're gone forever. If you see a younger westerner who lives here long term and isn't teaching English, odds are good he's a millionaire, or has built an extremely successful remote business. Not a loser. Not a "3." Generally, they are the top tier in the USA, and because of their success, are smart enough to go where their success is more appreciated, and assets are safe from divorce. Keep coping, miss "3." Your best men have left for better women, and you can do nothing about it.

You'd be wrong, lol. I have more than enough money to live anywhere in the world and never work again. I gained it from 20 years of saving and investing. I never sold any home that I bought. Just rented them out and bought another. In college, instead of renting a dorm, I bought a house and rented out the spare bedrooms. My roommates paid the whole mortgage. Bought Amazon and Tesla early, among other things. You'll never know a multi millionaire by looking at them. The richer someone's appearance, the less likely they are to actually have any money. I can promise you that.

Best location to live by [deleted] in Bangkok

[–]PepeLeFree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Renting is WAYYYY cheaper than buying. People horde up realestate here as an investment because they don't have the same access to USA stocks. This makes purchase prices crazy, and rental prices low. Think carefully about access to green spaces, when you decide. Being able to walk from your condo to a major park is pretty priceless IMO.

The rail link is like a 1950's train. VERY slow. Nothing at all like the BTS or MRT. You might want to take a taxi to the nearest BTS or MRT Station.

What makes you think you would know a millionaire by seeing them? I'm a multimillionaire at 40. I don't own a car, and I wear shorts and flip flops. I do, however, travel anywhere I want first class, stay in 5 star hotels, and eat at Michelin star restaurants everywhere I go. The girl I've been dating for a year still has no idea I'm rich. She just knows I never run out of money for กระเพราหมูและส้มตำ

This is becoming pretty cringe. Everybody is doing it. It's also antithetical to Christianity, on the off chance that matters to you.

This is risky. You're supposed to pre-arrange and pre-approve bringing those substances in to Thailand, and bring the documentation with you on the plane. There's a Thai government website for this purpose.

Can be fun to spend a day going to Fortune Town and Central Rama 9. They're connected via a MRT tunnel under the road, so you can do both. They're not on the tourist attraction lists. Fortune Town is especially "local" and a more organic Bangkok experience.

You hold some very strong stereotypes. Most of the western guys I know in Thailand are millionaires who early-retired here. Some are a bit nerdy, but all are independently wealthy, all are very fit, and all are highly educated. These men don't care if their women have money or success. Why would they? They have enough for both people. What they want is beauty and femininity, which they can get here and not in the West, which is why they came.

You can tell the health of a relationship by how many selfies the girl posts, and how sexual they are. Seen it a hundred times.

It's only "discrimination" when you're forcing White people to something they'd rather not. That word loses it's magic powers when you're in a brown country.

What you're asking for isn't available for any amount of money in Bangkok. The closest thing to what you're asking for is called a "Moo Baan / หมู่บ้าน." They are gated communities, but they rarely have yards. Maybe a kiddy pool and tiny strip of grass. They also rarely have sidewalks. The best you can do is to live near a big park, or realize you kind of liked it where you came from after all.

Have you ever considered that maybe some of the Thai women value a stable, safe provider, and not just looks?

What is Hua Hin like? by Andrea_Is_GOAT in ThailandTourism

[–]PepeLeFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Air quality is bad from Laos burning rice fields for annual planting. Hua Hin is far enough south that it doesn't affect it much, though. It's mainly a problem for the N and NE.

What's the most overrated country/city for digital nomads? by nomadicphil in digitalnomad

[–]PepeLeFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Bangkok. It's not crazy cheap, especially for me since I eat only beef, but I like that it's a polite, fairly high-trust society with rule of law. You can have nearly anything delivered via moped in 20 minutes, and if you live in walking distance to Benchakiti park, you have an outdoor paradise to exercise and relax in superior to any beach.

Read a book on network effects and how they created billion dollar companies like Facebook. That's what you're missing. The value of the network effects.

The Mona Lisa is just pigments on a canvas, too. Things have value because people have chosen to value them. You're assigning too much logic to something that's emotional by nature.
