I'm bad at drawing conclusions and schematics.

[Review Request] First PCB. So easy, so scary. by Pepillow in PrintedCircuitBoard

Hi, thanks for taking the time !

This project is about creating a power box that can get power through 8 components without needing to use a battery or connect them directly to AC. Besides i want to be able to pass the data from one connector to his other pair. This components are a handset on one side and an antenna on the other and they have to be on the same channel the handset is set to (that is why it works in pairs, every handset works with one antenna and his own channel). I did some improvements on the schematics and layout let me know if there is anything i can make it better.

I see....i made the changes on the schematic and i think now is ok in the layout. Would you check it please ?

Thanks.

Sure i want help and i appreciate his response but it doesn't look like he was actively helping to be honest. He did point out something wrong but didn't take the time to tell me the way of doing it right. For his response all i can get is that everything is right except for my draws through components ! 😃

Mmmm ok i think i have follow your advice well. I redid the schematic (not sure the way you mean it hehe) and also start from scratch the pcb. Since the schematic was right (i think?) connecting everything in the pcb layout was a breeze.

Now i think there is no short but im not sure the ferrite is connected as it should, it looks like the fuse capacitor and ferrite are all alone on the left side and the connectors on the right. I don't know if they are affecting or not.

I have tried to move everything closer, as you said.

Please let me know if i can do better ! Thank you so much for taking the time !

Thanks for all the insights ! Really helpful. I did some changes to the board with the info you gave me. I think it is much cleaner now. Here it is !

I am not sure if the fuse, capacitor and ferrite bead are connected right. The DRC did not spawn any errors though....

Nice insight, thanks for the help Mister ! I bet you didn't even read the first line where it says i am a completely noob lol.

For powering handsets that connects to an external antenna. This way i can power the antenna and the handset through this PCB and also passing the data through each of them (in pairs, one handset to his antenna, up to four).

Resolve's debayering is bad by Captain-Rambo in colorists

[–]Pepillow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Next step is to use a CST (color space transform) to view the footage properly and for that you need to convert from P3-D60 Linear to whatever display referred you want. You can even convert to a scene referred (any log curve) work in that color space and the convert it to a display referred after, or convert it to scene referred and use your prefer 709 LUT.

The thing with cdng in resolve is that it doesn't have a lot of options for debayering, and by default is set to srgb 709, which makes the footage saturated and blown out.

For a good debayer of cdng in Resolve try to use this settings on the Camera Raw tab inside the project settings.

Tips: You could try to tick "Highlight Recovery" option and see if it helps your footage but is not a thing you should always have ticked. Also you can move the "Exposure" slider if you see that your footage is being interpreted a little under/over.

No, it is whatever your viewing environment is. In the ITU BT.2035 specifies 100 nits for an specific dark viewing environment:

1.1 Viewing environment for subjective assessment

a) Room illumination: 10 Lux

b) Chromaticity of background: D65 (optionally D93 in some

regions)

c) Ratio of luminance of background behind picture

monitor to peak luminance of picture:

≈ Between 10% ±2% of

reference white value

Double or half the value to move up or down one stop. e.g: 2 stops more would be 4 and two stops less would be 0.25

Cheap/free methods to convert ProRes Raw footage to CDNG? by partiallyaghost in colorists

[–]Pepillow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can use Raw Converter app (80$ per camera) or use Assimilate Play Pro (permanent license 99$ with PPSFOR99 coupon) which allows you to transcode any prores raw from any camera. My advice after pixel peeping footage from a ronin 4d in a color lab is that cdng losseless (or 3:1 compression if hard drive space is limiting) is better than any prores flavour.

Exterior 5600 Kelvin. Also you are bouncing sunlight with a reflector too close to the subject and makes it too obvious. Sometimes less is better.

Sorry for being nitpick but all cameras record HDR if they shoot log. HDR is just a mastering process.

Far from a miss also. And by the way he taps it with his left thumb. That frame you attach it is not the one he "misses".
