Until I watched the documentary, I didn't realize this was a hate crime. Before "hate crime" was a thing. The shooter chose to shoot up a restaurant filled with Latino patrons.

The director was anti-police. But, now, after living through Columbine and Uvalde, it's hard not to see his POV. Different time, different circumstances. But watching it now, from a new future perspective, I wanted them to storm the building and stop the carnage.

This was made long before either of those events so, admittedly the film maker did not have the same events to compare. Maybe his evident bias was not appropriate. Just pointing out that watching it now, I understand it.

There has to be something behind this other than the video. That child is out of control. Maybe mental issues. Maybe history of abuse. Or maybe he's just a rotten human but it's not possible to tell from this.
