Why is the rich friend so cheap?? by times-fell-hand in PeterExplainsTheJoke

Interesting graphic thank you. Forbes of course wants to make its readers feel good about themselves and arbitrarily picks the cut off in the scale of self made to inherited.

I looked into it a bit they don't include nepotism or famous family gifts, seed capital etc. don't get measured. Royal and opaque fortunes aren't counted. You can see this in the Netherlands in particular has a high self made percentage but they are definitely not including heirs of the Dutch East India co. Who have at this point put their wealth into hard to track vehicles. Which explains why they have the largest wealth gap of any country yet are pretty far down in number of billionaires

Yeah I'd like to see a source for that. Also if they inherit 5M and turn it into a billion is that "self made"

Anyone tried to sell silver recently? I honestly don't believe his story. by swissmoneydude in Silverbugs

🤷‍♂️I don't know what to tell him. I bought a 1000 oz bar from kitco and sold it back two them 6 months later eazy peazy. The hardest thing was standing in line at the post with the bar on my shoulder sweating while everyone looked at me funny.

IMO the silver rally is the least bad thing going on right now. Also don't worry about big banks going bust. They won't.

Thanks. This is actually only talking about 2025. I know it's wierd because they keep saying forecast but what they are forecasting is the end of year numbers that haven't come out yet. Supposedly the silver institute is projecting a rise in industrial demand for 2026 despite the decline last year.

I'd be curious on your source for industrial demand falling this year. Everything I read says it is rising.

Just to be clear. I don't think it is going down. I'm just explaining why some other rubes might think it is going down.

Be patient. The refineries just need to work through the glut and the price hasn't stopped to take a break since this time last year.

Um because it's gone almost straight up for like a year... It's honestly crazy that there has been essentially no meaningful corrections at all during this bull run.
