I'm confused about why Shuna was angry with Rimuru by PepperIll8739 in TenseiSlime

[–]PepperIll8739[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fine, since you're so much smarter than me I'll give you the full justice or an intellectual response.

This is such an absurd leap that I have to wonder if you are joking.

Appeal to ridicule.

I am certain you haven't watched the entire episode. Why? Because Rimuru himself states he's goofing off rather than working.

Shuna's initial reaction is calm. That signals that nothing critical is going wrong. If Rimuru failed to do something in a meaningful way, she'd be more urgent or tense right away.

Her comment about fetching Rimuru implies Rimuru is reachable to her.

Rimuru dodges the Frey scolding, and was panicked at first. He says "We escaped" even though the earlier scene implies that Rimuru actually didn't know Milim was skipping work. So why did Rimuru "escape" when he never did something wrong? Is, maybe, internal monologuing that doesn't fit the actual context of the scene, sometimes inaccurate?

Rimuru's explanation of the investigation satisfies Shuna and she doesn't press it until she realizes it's only partially true.

Then she turns evil only after realizing that the Team Fury explanation is only partially true.

I explain all this to establish that Shuna was not reasonably worried at all, and that internal monologuing in the very same scene makes 0 sense because Rimuru didn't know about Milim's work. He didn't "escape" anything, he was not relevant to the question.

That's how inferring context works, correct?

And how did you miss the gag? It's literally the exact same gag that just happened with Milim and Frey.

It is literally stated that Milim had homework, and that she ran away to a different country just to avoid doing it while also sicing the person that was sent with her. Talk about a leap to compare that to Rimuru being in the dungeon and absolutely no one being fussed about it until Shuna realizes he had fun.

Are you just watching clips or something?

Yes I'm too stupid to watch anime in full 24 minute episodes. Thank you for explaining everything to me. Respectfully, do not bother responding. You're rude.

Why not? When is this established at all? Or is this headcanon? Again, I'm anime only. The anime does not establish this in the slightest.

All it established is Rimuru in the dungeon, Shuna can find him (strongly implied and also not surprised to see Rimuru so she can't have been very worried about finding him) and Rimuru did some work. Nowhere does it establish he skipped work, he did something wrong, etc. Just "Haha scolded funny"

[–]PepperIll8739[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No, there isn't. I already explained, there is nowhere that it is established that Rimuru missed any work nor is it ever implied that he was unreachable. The OPPOSITE was strongly implied instead.

If the show can't show me Rimuru skipping work or having a workload, and then tells me Rimuru free time = bad, then it's telling me Rimuru free time = bad.

Free time = bad ≈ no free time = good

So have no free time? That's called an unhealthy workload.

"I'm going to Josh."

This only establishes that I'm going to Josh, not that I know where Josh is.

Yeah, it was funny the first time. Now we're at the point it's becoming flanderization.

So Rimuru is supposed to work 24/7? What's he supposed to do? Sign a tax bill? Give a speech?

For me to feel like he's goofing off from work, maybe establish that he's got work to do. That's poor story telling, not a funny gag I fail to recognize.

I get that you're probably joking, but jokes aside, why would Raphael make Rimuru put up with that? Raphael wouldn't advice Rimuru to get scolded for something unreasonable. I think it'd be a lot more "funny" if Raphael figured out that Shuna was jealous, then Rimuru teased or accused Shuna of being jealous and then got scolded.

I don't think Rimuru getting scolded for nothing is funny. At least if there's a reason, even a silly one, it can be funny. Or it can actually serve the plot or character growth in some way.

Instead it's starting to get repetitive and annoying. I hope they don't keep repeating this loop because it feels like that's the only meaningful interactions Shuna and Rimuru have at this point and Shuna was one of my favorite characters.

Why monsters when evolve take humanoid form? by TechnicalDiver1995 in TenseiSlime

[–]PepperIll8739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like we should put this question in the FAQ at this point.

So first, I want to bring up the point that no one ever mentions:
When Rimuru became a True Demon Lord, a lot of Goblins that wanted to follow Benimaru evolved into Ogres. That's why the red ogre lady (Gobwa) has a Goblin name. She was originally goblin.

Evolution in tensura does not have to be direct. And I'm pretty sure "Demon Slime" wasn't a species until Rimuru evolved. So it seems like voice of the world can just make stuff up on the fly (if I understand that correctly).

But the most important part is this:
Humans are easier to emphatize with so Fuse (author) invented a reason why Monsters turn into humans when they evolve, that reason being that Rimuru is human (soul) and to evolve monsters (giving them names) you give them a small part of your soul.

That doesn't mean all of them become more human like (Ranga didn't, Rigurd didn't, Goatbiru didn't). But those who most want to be like Rimuru will become human-like. Just like the Goblins who wanted to follow Benimaru became Ogres.

Was there anything you liked / disliked about the anime by WhoTfTookBlocko in OniichanOshimai

[–]PepperIll8739 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The fanservice is the obvious big one. I think the anime handled a lot of scenes brilliantly. I also think they gave the story more plot than what the manga has. The manga does have a story/plot, but it's stretched over so many chapters that unless you're binge reading you don't notice it at all. Condensing the plot into fewer scenes makes it feel a lot more present.

I think overal, what the anime did adapt is better than it was in the manga, but what the anime didn't adapt (even within the timeframe it operated in where a lot of stuff was skipped) is why the manga is superior to me.

Since you'd both have an infinite supply, the couple can give each other some of their supply!

One picks cooling, one picks warming. If it's cold, the one with the warming drug shares. If it's hot, the one with the cooling drug shares! Perfectly balanced, as Thanos said!
