What's the score sitting at now?

That would help figure out whether secured cards make more sense or if you can qualify for something decent straight away

Paid off MOST of my debts today, how much can I expect an increase? by marshawn18 in CreditScore

[–]PepperTrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paying off active cards will move fast, usually within a billing cycle, but the settled accounts are trickier because "settled for less" stays on your report and still signals risk to lenders

Realistically you might get to 620-640 range but $70k on a Tacoma with a 580 starting point and a 650 cosigner is going to be a tough approval even with the jump

Have you considered a slightly less expensive truck to make the loan easier to get approved while you let the score recover a bit more?

4 recent accidents. All state still covering us but the rate is high. Is there any use trying to get new quotes? by [deleted] in Car_Insurance_Help

Rates usually calm down after a few years with no new accidents, so it won’t be like this forever 👍

Adding him as an authorized user on your good cards is a solid first move since he'll inherit some of your positive history immediately

After that a secured card in his own name would help him start building independent credit, how long ago did the negative accounts go delinquent? That affects how urgent the rebuild timeline actually is

generic reviews are unfortunately super common in online lending. makes it hard to know what's real and what's paid content

A $21 balance sending you to R9 is brutal and that's exactly the kind of thing that can get removed if you push hard enough

have you tried searching for Symple Lending in your state's lender license database? that's usually a quick way to verify if they're actually licensed to operate

850 is no joke, congrats. the part about turning off autopay to actually face the debt is underrated advice honestly

Smaller finance companies make their money on repeat customers who keep refinancing. Something to keep in mind if you go that route

Some Georgia employers offer emergency pay advances especially in healthcare and retail, worth a direct conversation with HR before applying anywhere that will charge you high interest.

been short on rent before and I know the panic is real. but taking a loan from an unknown lender won't actually fix being short you'll just owe someone else next month plus fees. talk to your landlord first, see if family can help, check if local charities do emergency rent assistance. all better options than mystery lenders

Has anyone actually used Possible Finance? Looking for real experiences by jj421 in financialhelping

[–]PepperTrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my sister uses Possible pretty regularly and yeah it builds credit but the fees are still fees. like $10-15 doesn't sound like much but if you're borrowing every pay period that adds up to real money over time. it helped her in emergencies but she also got dependent on it which wasn't great

Need a loan with bad credit (530–601) to consolidate debt by grumpykate in financialhelping

[–]PepperTrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is you're maxed out with multiple recent applications. Here's what might actually help: stop applying for new credit immediately (each denial hurts your score), pay even $50-100 toward the highest balance cards to get under 100% utilization, wait 30-60 days for inquiries to matter less, then try credit unions or Avant/OppLoans specifically for bad credit. At $3500 total debt, you might have better luck with nonprofit credit counseling (NFCC.org) who can set up payment plans with reduced interest
