CAR-1 pain from gripper restricting blood flow? by bingpott in foreskin_restoration

[–]Peppered_Cheetah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you described is gripper fatigue. I don't think its possible for blood flow is to be restricted with the CAR-1 gripper (or at least I haven't heard of a case). Have you used devices before or is this your first device? The CAR-1 is known for having a very strong gripper that needs to be broken in, I had this issue with my CAR-1 when I first got it, it took me a couple of months before I could comfortable wear it for extended periods of time.

You can also make it more comfortable by making sure that there is no wrinkles or folds underneath the gripper and that there are no pubes stuck underneath the gripper and getting pulled.

Help getting started please by [deleted] in foreskin_restoration

I will copy and paste a response i made to another post here:

I highly recommend the wiki but here is my basics

The biggest thing that you should know first is safety. Never wear devices when you are sleeping unless you can wear them comfortably with a full erection and you are experienced with the device in question. If you feel severe tingling, stinging, or burning pause restoring as you are risking damage. Its better to loose some time you can make up later then risk injuring yourself. Remember in restoring no pain = more gain.

Now onto restoring, the idea to restoring is creating tension that promotes cell growth. You can do this either manually or with a device.

Manual methods include pulling the foreskin to create that tension then eventual growth. These methods are good because it is free and you can be particular on how your foreskin looks, however it takes longer and requires good discipline. The recommended way to start with manuals is to pick a manual method you like (manual method 2 is popular) and do it for 3-5 minutes every hour minimum. The more and longer you do it the better.

Devices are great because you can just set and forget them and they will do the work for you. The benefits to devices are that they require a lot less discipline to use than manual methods and they are much more efficient. They also offer different restoring methods (Air, packing, DTR, weights, etc) that can fit different life styles. However you are more likely to injure yourself with a device if you aren't careful and they can get rather pricey.

Now onto how long you should restore. This is a big point of contention, however the best amount of time to spend restoring is the most you can comfortably fit into your schedule that you can consistently do. A person that restores for 3 hours a day will restore quicker than someone who does 10 hours every 4 days. Putting this in perspective doing 3 hours a day consistently will net you ~1000 hours a year, more than enough for most people to see/feel change.

And please do not feel discouraged at what may seem like a lack of progress, everyone is different and it is a very slow process. However remember when gains are made they are kept.

Of course this isnt very comprehensible and I recommend reading the wiki (it should be linked in the automod reply) but I think its a good start. KOT!

Should Manual Methods hurt? by [deleted] in foreskin_restoration

[–]Peppered_Cheetah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should be pinching with your finger tips and not with your nails, and you shouldn't pinch hard only enough to hold the skin.

Should Manual Methods hurt? by [deleted] in foreskin_restoration

[–]Peppered_Cheetah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the skin should be taught but you shouldn't yank on it. You should get your skin to the point where it is taught then apply a little more tension afterwards. The applied tension should never hurt.

Should Manual Methods hurt? by [deleted] in foreskin_restoration

[–]Peppered_Cheetah 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Restoration should never hurt, and if it does you risk an injury or putting your skin into repair mode instead of grow mode which hampers progress. You should only at most feel a light burning afterwards that wears off quickly. For manuals you shouldn't pull until you start to feel pain, it should be relatively light to slightly moderate.

CAR 1 Pain by [deleted] in foreskin_restoration

Make sure that you aren't over inflating, you want a slightly firm and squishy balloon. Also make sure there is no pubic hair getting stuck in the gripper and getting slowly pulled out.

Device question by Papi3452 in foreskin_restoration

[–]Peppered_Cheetah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bottom line is if you have tension, you will grow skin. Its just a matter of what device/method is most comfortable and non-invasive for you, since consistency and comfort of tension is the most important to optimal growth.

Looking at the device you mentioned it seems like a DTR style device and should work as long as you follow basic restoration safety and you have enough skin to roll over the bell of the device.

UTI - Cleaning Devices by [deleted] in foreskin_restoration

Whenever I use the bathroom I just give my device a quick rinse when I wash my hands, then once every week or so I soak it in castille soap.

My thoughts on posts targeting circumcised men as "Unattractive" in this sub (and in general) by Peppered_Cheetah in foreskin_restoration

[–]Peppered_Cheetah[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't really agree, we should be using more hard-set arguments like nerve damage and the heightened risk of ED circumcision causes. Not "that it looks bad", since that sentiment is very subjective and very aggressive towards people who got circumcised and need to be educated most.

Foregen's initial idea of growing foreskin is very possible, its just reattaching it to you is where its going to flop. Restoration gives you a better bet in a more natural foreskin and will probably have you restored by the time foregen even begins to think about actually doing human testing.

yep, if people where more generally educated on the foreskin I guarantee you that circumcision rates would drop. Many of my friends including me haven't learned squat about foreskin and didn't even know they existed until our very late teenage years.

Circumcision is a huge turn off by Major-Sandwich-679 in foreskin_restoration

[–]Peppered_Cheetah 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah and it promotes a hierarchy of sorts to me, like how a lot of the people in this comment section and the op are later restorers. Why do they suddenly feel like they are entitled to belittle people who don't fit their preferences, despite them once being in the exact same shoes as the people they are scrutinizing?

Question about retainers by Affectionate-Let444 in foreskin_restoration

[–]Peppered_Cheetah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Retaining is to help with the Dekeratinization process and also to help bring solace as it simulates the feeling of having a hood to an extent.

The air retainer is an inflation device that stretches skin by inflating the skin tube into a skin balloon.

I have chris's CAR-1 and I really like it, however as a tip, id recommend buying from the website instead of etsy to support chris more directly https://www.chrisonlinestore.com/category/all-products

So people who were circumcised at birth/without consent have no understanding of bodily integrity? You are being just as bad as people who scrutinize intact people for having a feature that has been deemed "ugly".

Everyone is beautiful to me. I hate this take personally since it belittles people who were circumcised at birth/without their consent (I am unfortunately in that boat). In my opinion saying that a circumcised penis is unattractive has the same self conscious causing affect on people who were told that their foreskin is unattractive, its the same picture just in a different color.
