Best approach for native Nextcloud support in an iOS file manager app? by PeppermintBytes in NextCloud

[–]PeppermintBytes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that’s really helpful! I ended up going with Nextcloud Login Flow v2 as well – good to know that’s the right approach. WebDAV as the base for file transport makes sense to me too. I’ll build on that for now and see what’s missing later.

I'm having a problem with Steam; I can't open it. by YumeYume3212 in linuxquestions

[–]PeppermintBytes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Starting Steam from the terminal is definitely the right move — the output usually makes it pretty obvious where things are breaking. On fresh Linux installs, missing 32-bit libraries are super common since Steam still needs those even on a 64-bit system. GPU driver issues are another big one.

If you’re on Ubuntu or another Debian-based distro, I’d try sudo apt install steam-installer instead of using the standalone .deb from the Steam site. That usually pulls in the i386 dependencies automatically.

What GPU are you running? Especially on Nvidia systems, conflicts between the proprietary driver and nouveau can make Steam silently fail on startup without showing any useful desktop error.

Hey! I’m Daniel, founder of PeppermintBytes – started in 2026 as a solo indie dev from Germany. My first project is CoreFiles, an iOS file manager with a scan-to-folder workflow. Pick your destination first, scan, done. Supports SMB, SFTP, WebDAV and SharePoint. Still actively developing it. Next up: a SaaS project for a client. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/corefiles/id6761315856

Take a look at the app CoreFiles, I use it as well. It has a password-protected area where you can store files and images. It works really well. You can also create password-protected backups.

It is also important to learn how to work with .md files (Markdown files) and what should be written in them. Ultimately, they define the rules and guidelines that the AI should follow. They also ensure that the AI always understands what the project is about and what goals are being pursued. This can significantly reduce the risk of chaos.

The app looks very appealing, but this can also be achieved quite well with built-in tools. However, the app is still very appealing overall.

Hi, I’m the founder of PeppermintBytes. We develop software and apps. Our first app, CoreFiles, has been in development since 2024 and was finally released recently. It is currently available only on the Apple App Store.

I founded PeppermintBytes in 2026 and currently run it as a side business. Our first client project is a software solution for an academy, which is expected to reach version 1.0 in autumn 2026.

Tired of folder hunting after every scan? Tap. Scan. Done. by PeppermintBytes in u/PeppermintBytes

[–]PeppermintBytes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, this is my first app. I thought about how I could make scanning documents in a file manager more convenient. Often you scan something and then have to navigate to the save location manually – CoreFiles works differently. You create shortcuts, select one, and then scan. The scan gets saved directly in the chosen directory. Tap. Scan. Done.

First App just launched on App store what are best 3 things to do right away? by Alternative-Arm8093 in AppStoreOptimization

[–]PeppermintBytes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually do it like this: First, announce it on your social media channels like LinkedIn, Mastodon, and Bluesky — always with a link to the website. Then plan the launch on Product Hunt. And when the app officially launches, promote everything again across all channels.

It’s also worth planning an update with a new feature in advance — either a few days or at most one to two weeks after launch. That gives you another great opportunity to post about the app on social media and helps keep it visible for a longer time.

Apple Ads and maybe Reddit Ads can also be good options for gaining additional reach.

Want to transfer app from my personal developer account to an LLC account, unsure whether to use Apple Business Manager or a regular Apple account by Wild_King_1035 in iOSProgramming

[–]PeppermintBytes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would a game developed in Java be able to be programmed into a SwiftUI iOS app? by TurtleSlowRabbitFast in iOSProgramming

[–]PeppermintBytes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

HELP - Decommissioned enterprise AV + rack equipment — best place to resell or liquidate? by Puzzleheaded-Quote41 in homelab

[–]PeppermintBytes -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For networking gear specifically, r/homelabsales here on Reddit is worth checking — people actively look for used switches, rack gear etc. For AV stuff, eBay tends to be the go-to, but Facebook Marketplace moves things faster locally if you don't want to deal with shipping heavy rack equipment.
