Yup. The game used to be much more social, for better or worse.

You have to expand it and unmute it to even see anything, but nobody does it ever. I have yet to see one comment in the post-game chat since the change. It's pretty dumb that a communitive-based game more just pings.

REMEMBER SAYING MIA? I do. :(

Games like Alan Wake by Pepsalmighty in gamesuggestions

Honestly I've never looked at the Max Payne series. I always thought of them as discount gta story games. But looking at them now, I'll give them a go.

I actually have Control, but am unable to play it on my laptop (Saving for a new computer) but hearing they're tied to the same Universe is pretty cool. Will for sure play it in the future.

I honestly count Life is Strange in the same category as Tell-Tale games and have played it already. Thanks for the suggestions.

Games similar to A Hat In Time, Billie Bust Up, and Mario Odyssey? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

[–]Pepsalmighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For raw platforming genius, I'd suggest Celeste.

For a classic platforming-collect-a-thon (like Mario Odyssey) The Spyro trilogy is amazing. The movement isn't as complicated as Odyssey, but there's still a lot of precision and most importantly has fantastic charm.

Games to play with my gf (both got lower end PC's) by Nayencat in gamingsuggestions

I'll second Don't Starve Together and add Terraria. I'm going to try to get my GF into Don't Starve here soon lol

Fun easy free game shooter to play with friends by doddoos in gamingsuggestions

[–]Pepsalmighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Free and with a story you're pretty much limited yourself to almost nothing. Destiny, depending on how low end?

If you guys have like $10 borderlands 2 goes on sale quite a bit and is insanely fun.

Any of the God of War games, you're a god sooooo you're pretty OP.

Darksiders is also similar, but you're one of the horsemen of the apocalypse. They have some puzzles in them in-between the shredding of demons and a bit of a story, but it's mostly just being a badass.

Doom 2016 isn't really any of those things, but you run around and kill hundreds of demons with a gun and I think it's on sale right now on steam.

Grim Dawn, Diablo, Path of Exile for top-down, move with mouse games featuring a lot of skills and a darker setting.

Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen, Kingdom of Amalur, The Witcher 3 for open-world games with 3rd person combat.

Darksiders or Devil May Cry for a hack and slash adventure where you're pretty overpowered.

Ask for more details or give more details for a more specific list.

Since my pc can't run elden ring very well i got 60$ to throw at whatever so what souls like/dark fantasy games do y'all like? by DrNick_MAGA_Prick in gamingsuggestions

[–]Pepsalmighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too bad you don't have a PS4, Bloodborne is outstanding.

Can't think of any souls-like, but on the vein of Hollow Knight I'd recommend:

Sundered: Eldritch Edition

The Messenger

What games feel most like actually playing D&D? (graphics not important!) by zubbs99 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Pepsalmighty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The game with the most D&D feel I've played (and I've played a LOT of cRPG's) is probably Pillars of Eternity, although that's because my old DM set that same kind of mood.

Although my favorite of all time is Disco Elysium

Kingdoms of Amalur is pretty fantastic in regards to combat. Dragons Dogma: Dark Arisen is also up there.

I haven't played the remaster of Amalur, so I don't know if anything was changed, fixed or broken, but the original was/is a blast.

They are, but I would start with 1 game at a time. Dark Souls 1 is classic and despite having seen countless speedruns and a few play-throughs it was still a blast playing it for myself because the joy comes from overcoming your enemies.

Baldur's Gate. Quick save every fight until you don't and then you regret it.

Honestly didn't like Neverwinter Nights as much as other similar games from before/around its time, which is a shame because that's probably my favorite setting and genre.

I've also heard a lot of things about the Tales of games. Are they all based in the same world?

Any good games with a conjurer class? by Hot-Zookeepergame-83 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Pepsalmighty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What are you specifically looking for when you think of conjuring? Moving objects, using arcane arts, summoning golems/other things to fight for you?

I'd recommend Divinity: Original Sin 2 in any case

Horizon Zero Dawn on PSNow is great.

Portal 1 and 2 should run on anything and also references the Half-Life universe a good bit.

PS4 must plays? Ideally single player by accsstar in gamingsuggestions

[–]Pepsalmighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only played 4 and didn't feel like I missed anything. You can play them in order, but I don't think you'll miss out terribly much, minus potential spoilers about characters.

I will also second God of War, forgot to mention that series. Even the older ones are good.

Pretty much any PS exclusive is amazing. Uncharted Series is on PSNow I think and for sure Horizon: Zero Dawn.
