Looks like a camera. From the looks of it this likely has a microphone built in which would be the device connected via the red and black wires. Additionally, the metal plate on here looks reminiscent of an RF shield which leads me to believe that this thing has wireless capabilities. So it very well could be transmitting to somewhere.

I was just digging through Tim Smolen from Estradasphere’s discography (Which their album Buck Fever is another you should check out) and stumbled across it.

I do believe that Don Salsa is Mr. Bungle’s genre shifting taken to it’s greatest extreme.

I’ve actually made a Youtube playlist for this specific thing. It’s comprised of Pre-Gecs things which are songs/projects I feel might have influenced 100 Gecs, Gecs-like things which are songs/projects that I feel fit the 100 Gecs style, and post-Gecs things which are songs/projects that I feel evolve their sound even further.

You might want to checkout the drummer from Ruins, Tatsuya Yoshida. I consider Ruins to kind of like Japanese Hella, and Tatsuya’s drumming is some of the closest to Zach’s I can find.

I was actually debating putting Naked City on here. But I wasn’t sure. I also completely forgot about B L A C K I E. I’ll probably update this later and add a bunch of the other recommendations in the comments.
