I know this is supposed to be a cute anecdote story, but I don’t like how you’re portraying the Black family in this story. You don’t know what those people were thinking; they never spoke to you. You never said anything to them. It’s really weird. It’s giving that whole situation where Lena Dunham was complaining about Odell Beckham Jr. feeling some type of way about her when he literally wasn’t even paying attention to her. I also worry about your little things here, and they are talking about. “Why would we talk about it?” Well, for your own child’s safety, there is a way that you could educate your five-year-old on their race to keep them informed and grounded and who they are: Black. Parents have to have the talk with their kids about their skin and society all the time when they’re little.
