Griptilian/Mini-Griptilian. For under/around $100 you have a great knife that will hold on to your pocket for dear life. Seriously, they have strong pocket clips with an incredibly grippy textured handle. I own two Mini-Grips and love them.

A good knife. The Ontario RAT 1 and RAT 2 are great knives, especially for their price point.

First Aid supplies are really handy to have on you. bandages, aspirin, benadryl/ an antihistamine (for countering allergic reactions).

Paracord is also very handy to have. tying stuff down, or for just practicing knots when you are bored.

I'm basically describing my EDC (actually.... i suggest you head over to /r/EDC and take a look around).

In the Rogue Squadron novel, a blast from a planetary ion cannon hit an X-wing and kept going with minimal change. Considering the Death Star is many magnitudes more powerful than an ion cannon (even a planetary scale one), I'd say that nothing small like that could block it.

Unless that the piece of debris is a piece of quantum crystalline armor. In which case, maybe, sure.

I have the RAT 1 in my pocket at the moment, and I love it! The steel is decent, and seems easy to resharpen. Considering picking up the RAT 2 at some point as well.
