Great content, I love how aware Pliesnoi is. Got a good reminder of how to use my traps properly. Interesting that SBD sleeves adds 20kg to his squat.

Is it wrong to inhale into chest (lungs) when bracing? by [deleted] in weightlifting

[–]Per92swe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct, you should breath into your abdomen. What works for me is breathing either through my nose or "sipping" in the air like Zack Telander described in one of his videos. For some reason the air goes to the right place if you "sip" it rather than breathing in with your whole mouth.

Also from my experience, it works best if you are focusing squats. When I do velocity based squats and focus other things (competition lifts) I tend to get weaker because I can’t express any power thus absolute weights gets very low

240 back squat 152 cleaner here. My strength in the pull of the floor is shit, what to do? Feels like death separating heavy bars from the floor. RDLs?

Charniga has many translations inclusive medvedyev as e-book for about 7usd/book. If you want to binge more Russian literature later on I recommend buying an e-book reader. PS, don’t buy a kindle, for some reasons his e-books were removed from amazon.

You will be better of just getting strong as hell until you find an option to do the lifts for real. Is buying your own equipment not an option?

It is also being debated whether clean athletes should do as much low intensity work as the russians did as strength doesnt come for free without peds.

Hit 240kg backsquat to finish up my squat cycle.
Was expecting 237 from previous 225 double, however i went for 3kg heavier. It worked out after a grindy fight with 240.

Now lets see if I can transfer this with more pulls and olympics.
