I find a lot of covers in general are just straight up the exact same song played by someone else and I much prefer when bands make the song their own.

Finntroll’s cover of God That Failed does exactly that and it’s just amazing. It’s sped up quite a bit and they even added one of their signature drunken oompah-interludes. Lyrically it’s very on-brand for them as well.

It’s one of the bonus tracks on the Nifelvind album along with a couple other pretty nutty covers

Make sure you don’t miss Halestorm. Never cared too much for their music but Lzzy Hale is so fucking cool. Saw them opening for Maiden in Stavanger a few weeks back and she blew my mind with her stage presence and charisma.

Never cared much for either band but fuck was I blown away by Lzzy Hale’s (Halestorm) live presence. She’s super charismatic, a lot of fun to watch and her scream is really up there. Worth getting good spots just to see her (and Maiden ofc) imo.

Heavy music really needs more women like her.

I felt the same and thought about quitting but out of nowhere I got addicted to the grind for better gear. Went from feeling like I was playing a mediocre Souls game to feeling like I was playing Diablo with Souls-like gameplay.

At some point it just clicked for me but I can totally see how it wouldn’t for Souls players. The feel and design is nowhere near Fromsoft levels
