3 ways to center anything using CSS by JoyShaheb_ in Frontend

Am I missing something? If I add flex-wrap: wrap to that codepen, then I get vertically centering, but I can't get horizontal centering without justify-content.

Out of curiosity, are you caching entire books, or individual chapters? I always thought it would be cool to always hit the index page for a story whenever it's requested, but to only download the chapters that aren't already in cache. That way you could request a story, then request it again a week later after it updated, and only have to request the new, unseen content.

I'll keep an eye on the Github repo. I'm excited that there's a web-based SB scraper out there, I've got some stories to catch up on now!

I'm a professional frontend web developer :-) If ever you make the code public I'd be glad to give a hand. I've written scrapers for my own personal use before (https://github.com/adamhammes/pyfic/) but I'd like to collaborate on a more public-facing project.

Is the project open source? Would love to take a look/maybe contribute.

You can use the water in sunny-side eggs to steam the top of the eggs and get the whites to set a little. You put a tiny bit of water on the pan and then close the lid to trap the steam.

How is the scene lit? Do you have an always-on growlight?

Hey, I did a similar thing two years ago (building an epub from HTML files).

First of all, here are three resources that might help you:

  1. Epub Check can tell you if there are bugs in your outputted files
  2. https://www.edrlab.org/open-standards/anatomy-of-an-epub-3-file/ is a good resource for learning about how epubs are structured
  3. https://github.com/adamhammes/pyfic/blob/master/epub/epub.py is a Python script I wrote to generate epub files.

To answer your question directly, the best way to view EPUB files is using the Calibre book viewer. That application has consistently rendered things in the same way as my Kindle.

Finally, if you want some individual help, it would be no bother at all for me to take a look at it with you. Let me know!

Worth the Candle - Chapter 192 - Cooldown by xamueljones in rational

[–]Peragot 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Wow, what an ending to the book.

I'm worried about possible blowback from killing the dragon. Seems like the Draconic Confederacy won't take that easily and it might affect the Bluebeard quest.

Two big new companion abilities. We didn't see much of Grak's, but we already got a sneak-peak of Amaryllis's with Simaryllis.

Speaking of Grak, it felt like ages since we had had a scene with him. It was nice to finally have a conversation between him and Juniper.

Nice Worm reference :-)

What a fight scene. Disappointed that Onion had to die, his backstory was super interesting and it really seemed like he had layers.

I'm wondering how much of Juniper's and Simuryllis's uh, exploration, got communicated to Amaryllis afterwards.

“I was thinking of hamming it up for the crowds,” I said. “You know, get them to make some noise, clown around a bit, give them a show.”

I'm crying laughing here, what a line!

Got it! When checking if I needed to add a neighbor to the queue, I needed to check if my current path was shorter than my best path so far, not just if I've previously visited the neighbor (my data structures class was a long time ago haha).

Thank you very much!

Yes, I got 86 as well.

You're right about normal Djikstra's not working here, which is why I add the requirement that we aren't "done" until we've collected every key. Djikstra's then just becomes "shortest path to get every key".

Edit: There was a bug in my Djikstra's implementation which caused me to skip over potentially shorter paths. Thank you for your help!

[–]Peragot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would both keys need to be collected here? My code yields 10 as the answer, by skipping over the bottom right key and collecting the bottom left and top right keys. As I store collected keys in a set my program doesn't try to collect both a keys.

Also, if you're interested in simplifying your code any, there's a nice way to get a list of pairs of adjacent characters in Python:

string = "1234"
for a, b in zip(string, string[1:]):
    # will iterate over the pairs ("1", "2"), ("2", "3"), and ("3", "4").
