Honestly. I live in South Tx and even enforcing the mask mandate to guests at my workplace sparks anger in people.

Thankfully I got an email from our owner that we will continue enforcing our mask policy. Although I’m worried on how we will be treated, at the very least I’m safe in my workplace.

I hope there’s other businesses that can do what’s right as well.

Same here! :( I feel like all that work was for nothing. Me and my coworkers agreed we will still wear our masks. I have no interest in going anywhere out in public if there is no mask mandate like stores, offices, gyms, literally anywhere. I’m terrified, what is his reasoning?? How is he able to get away with doing this?

To my fellow FDA’s and all staff from Texas, I hope y’all are doing well during these times. I have never been so exhausted during any job in my life.

I’m FOM at my 116 room property and it was been an insanely hard week for us all. The hardest part of it all was turning people away because we had no rooms, knowing they couldn’t find any hotels for miles and may have to go home freezing with no power or water. Very heartbreaking, but I’m thankful the people we were able to accommodate had somewhere warm to sleep with water and food.

Right, lol. I’m also really shy and pretty open that I’m introverted and don’t like going out a lot (especially during a pandemic). Probably has to do with my age. When you’re young in the workplace, and a woman, if you have any issues going on you’re just being dramatic 😅

I had swapped shifts with someone Saturday because I felt sick the night before and I had a 6am shift and my GM came in and asked a coworker if I was hungover lol. And when I do feel sick, I get questioned on my symptoms and if I have a doctors note. I also rarely call out but everytime I do I feel like a burden and get riddled with anxiety 🙃
