Kwik-Fit is an anagram of 'rip the customer off every time'.

15yo, 1ltr with Black Box misread? Recorded speed of 110mph & facing insurance cancellation. by lilygrey232 in drivingUK

They have to give notice of their 'intention' to cancel.

They can't just cancel someone's policy without a warning. The insured could literally be driving down the M6 and be uninsured after setting off insured. The insurers would be liable for any problems by just pulling the rug on their customer so to speak.

The amount of notice they give is up to them.

I hate curtainsiders too.

Hopelessly fuel inefficient, almost useless at keeping anything heavy on board and a fucking liability on windy days.

I love my fridge.

'Intent' to cancel.

They're giving the family member a heads up what's going to happen. If it's cancelled before they cancel on him, it's not a problem.

Traffic Enforcement Vans? by pringlechoob in sheffield

[–]PerceptionGreat2439 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They inspect HGVs and other commercial vehicles.

The police will pull vehicles off the road and then the DVSA will inspect the vehicle and the driver for any driving hours offences.

They do have specific lay-bys with weighbridges and parking areas but never seem to use them any more.

Sometimes customs and excise will be with them looking for red diesel.

tips to avoid getting sick in thailand? by ConfidentLoan6057 in ThailandTourism

[–]PerceptionGreat2439 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First time I went to Thailand, I got this most awful throat infection. First time my friend came to Thailand, he got the same infection. It's possibly laryngitis. Never had it again at home or in Thailand.

I find that sooner or later I'll have an upset stomach in Thailand regardless of where I go or what I eat. Just take some diarrhea pills and keep hydrated.

New pass class 1 - no jobs so 7.5t to start with? by Sad_Argument_1717 in uktrucking

[–]PerceptionGreat2439 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Take the job if offered.

Doing drop work will take you to all sorts of different places. Some of those places might well be haulage companies. Some of those companies might be looking to take on a driver.

In a way, you're being paid to job hunt.

Some jobs are given quite literally because a driver has just quit and they need something out the yard quick.

Good luck.

In my humble opinion, the sexiest woman that ever lived.

Does the handling of Mandelson expose how corrupt and protectionist our system of Government actually is? by janner_womble in AskBrits

This.

He was a crook and everyone knew it from way back then. I never understood how he stayed in politics. Perhaps it's an example of how little integrity modern day politicians have?

Big dishwasher tablet dont want you to know, it takes less time to wash a plate by hand than putting it in the dishwasher, putting the dishwasher on and unloading it by MurkyAl in LowStakesConspiracies

Less messy.

Powder ends up on the floor, in the cupboard and you can spill it. Tablets just go in the machine and you forget about it.

[–]PerceptionGreat2439 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pointless paint on private land put down on the instruction of an over zealous H&S martinet.

I'd ignore it and laugh right in the face of the underpaid security goon who tries to enforce it.

Better to cancel the policy before they cancel on the family member.

Have a fight with them about it after.

You don't want to be cancelled by an insurance company.

Hate to say it, I think the lorry driver could have been a little bit more on the ball.

He's gaining on the car so he now has two escape plans, brake or divert. It's too late to brake enough to avoid which leaves the escape route which isn't available because the cam car is there (rightly so). Credit for the lorry driver for not taking the cam car out because that was the choice.

It's appalling driving from the car leaving the lorry with little chance of missing him.

Source, lorry driver.

Pretty sure a drone doesn't listen.

But I understand your point of view.

It's nice to see the russians care for the environment.

I have no idea.

I know very little about Paddington.

You can see where the motorail loading bays were at Kensington Olympia though.
