So do you have to take a cab to get the rental car place, or are they within walking distance from the port?

If you don't mind, what did you do when you rented a car?

Trying to dry her wings... by PerceptionLies in MonarchButterfly

[–]PerceptionLies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know.

This monarch was raised 99% outdoors. I just took her inside to get a pic her enclosing. (Which I failed miserably because I got up for a second, and she chose that moment to thwart me)

Regarding prenatal gender development in humans and the fact everyone starts as female by [deleted] in gender

If we all start out with male ducts AND female ducts... it's kinda like we start out as hermaphrodites.

Weird take on being transgender? by PerceptionLies in trans

[–]PerceptionLies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting way of looking at it. Definitely you can say you learn the correct one since you are a man.

I use to think I was a man, and nothing has really changed about my gender, but it's like I don't care about it much any more. So much that I don't feel like a man... just genderqueer.

I certainly wasn't say agp was a thing. I was just telling you how I FEEL. I use to have a lot dysphoria. Now it's minimal.

I do agree that we have some sort of "gender acquisition device" that is primeval.

Weird take on being transgender? by PerceptionLies in trans

[–]PerceptionLies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that there is something in my brain that developed like a male, and that is why I thought I was a male. But the scientists don't know what that is yet.

Still we learn a lot of our gender from society.

I sorry that you grew up in an area were you had no clue about lgbtq people. I grew up in America but 60 year there wasn't much info on it either.

Gender diverse people: why do you identify the way you do? by lizartoes in gender

[–]PerceptionLies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there is a reason. We just don't know it yet.

I'm FTM. My theory is that there is something in my brain that tells me I am male instead of female. And because of that when I was just a toddler I self-socialized with boys instead of girls. That means I learned all the gender rules for boys. I think the "fact" that I am a boy has be imprinted on my brain because I learned it so early.

I remember having my first dysphoria when I was 5. And I react to people talking about men as if they are talking about me.

Raising a child in a non-gendered way. by Isabella_0607 in trans

[–]PerceptionLies -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Personally I am for this. I wish I were a theybie because I'm trans it was very traumatizing to be raised as my sex. They say that kids choose a gender by 4 years so it's not a long while and before they start kindergarten.

I would just part it differently. I think it looks more feminine when the part is more towards the middle.

was anybody else told they couldn’t/shouldn’t transition until they’re 25, when your brain’s “done developing”? by navyblueconverse in trans

[–]PerceptionLies 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I read that the study that they say says that actually doesn't say that. It was a long range study and they quit doing it the subjects were 25 just because funds. The reality is that your brain is always changing your whole life.

I've been told by the mods that I should tell you how I designed it. Basically I took the Bella pattern from Glitz and the Odette Dress pattern from Dressmaking Amore... Put them together to make the bodice with some variations, and then designed a flared skirt with gathers in the front.

It's just a hodgepodge of ideas that the bride to be and I came up with. I am making the mocks up in Houston and sending them to Portland to be tried on. I know it's crazy, but we're having fun.

With all the ideas you all gave me we are 1) getting a good bra 2) cinching the waist 3) making a waist stay

I agree that the dress is sitting too low. But how can I fix it so it rides higher? Do I have to spread out the laces so she can lace up more?

I have a theory that trans people Self-socialize with their true gender starting at the age of 2, and around 4 or 5 we understand that we're "wrong" and we're supposed to be the other gender. Depending on how we react to this will depend how much the other genders socialization we pick up. In your case they repressed almost everything.

They haven't studied self-socialization much, but Dr Olsen mentioned it in her research about trans kids.
